Mark your calendars!! The Off Color Discussion Series is back this Monday, May 18th at 7:30pm.
You may remember we were going to do a tea and beer discussion with an actual tea industry person last year, but then at last second we lost our tea expert. We still forged ahead with the discussion and had a lot of fun, but a little less expertise. So we’re running it back almost a year to the day this Monday at 7:30 at Mousetrap.
That evening our co-founder Dave Bleitner will discuss the intersection of beer and tea with Chris Cason, Director of Operations and Innovation at @firsdtea in an intimate talk and tasting in the Mousetrap foeder room. We will tap the last kegs of Raspberry Beer for Golf to taste along with a new variant of our hard iced tea Cat Fiend and other Off Color beers featuring tea as we look at the intersection of tea and beer.

We forgot to tell you. Our 13th Anniversary glassware for tonight’s event has a laser engraved nucleation point that’s a piece of cheese 🧀🐭. And it works amazingly (swipe whatever direction you swipe to see).

We know we told you we weren’t pairing a beer with this new glass for our next Keep the Glass Night on Thursday, May 14th, but then we decided to release Beer for BBQ that day and realized our lager with brown sugar and honey would be a perfect match for this new glass.
First, it’s the right size so that’s nice. And second, let’s be honest here, you don’t know what the cat is doing on the other side of the fence. They might be having a BBQ with all their cat friends and the mice might be upset they weren’t invited to the BBQ which was the flashpoint that led to the vandalization of the fence. And this glass was always meant to go with this beer. At least that’s the story we’re going with. So now what about the beer?
Beer for BBQ is the ultimate cookout companion. Crafted to complement rich flavors with sweet honey and savory aromas, hints of smoky pine, and enough bitterness to cut through the fat. A WEEK FROM TONIGHT!! Coming up on Thursday, May 14th, we’ll be hosting a Keep the Glass Night and lowkey 13th Anniversary celebration at Mousetrap. There are a couple of dates we throw around as the start of Off Color Brewing and May 14th is one of them, so we might as well throw a party.
If you haven’t been to one of our Keep the Glass events before, we’ll have a few highlighted beers that you can pick from and you get a pour and you keep the glass. Limit of one per customer. Any extra inventory will go online and be available at the taproom the next day.

While most of our keep the glass events are linked with a specific beer, this time around we decided to hit you with a completely new thing.
One the front side of this 16oz glass you’ll see our trouble making mouse Mischief getting busted vandalizing a cat’s fence (fun fact: the fence and cat peeking over were originally featured on the Sparkles Finds (some) Trouble 4pk carrier).
The backside of the glass features the spray paint can being tossed into the underground mouse bunker where Mischief’s friends are innocently playing poker (the underground poker mice were originally an alternate concept for Fox in the Snow label).
This is kind of a fun mashup that harkens back to when we used glass bottles and 4pk carriers and could tell a story that went from the four pack carrier to the bottle. So for this glass we’re telling a story from one side to the other. End of this post that has become its own story, we really like this glass and hope you join us to have a beer and take one home on the 14th. Event starts at 5pm.
