Rejected by the gallery of his dreams, a spurned gay white cis male artist hires, a local black actress to pose as the creator of his paintings. Together, they create the perfect candidate for the “New America“ exhibit: the charismatic, unapologetic Balkonaé Townsend.

Playmakers is BACK! A monthly series featuring directed, and cold readings of new works by local playwrights. Playmakers is a space to share, test, and develop new plays while fostering collaboration and artistic experimentation within our theater community.
Each month, a new pair of theater artists will select a cold reading to develop into a directed piece for the following month – giving artists a chance to practice their craft and playwrights a fresh perspective on their work
