Marking the 52nd anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, which happened on this day in 1974.
Anyone who has been to The Bunker has passed this article in the hallway, or this plaque along the footpath outside, possibly wondering what it is or maybe taking an interest and reading through.
As I leave this studio this evening, I feel it’s important to acknowledge an important part of the fabric and history of this city, with one of the bombs going off right outside the building here on Talbot St. - Atrocities carried out by the UVF.
This photo and article were left in the rooms when I first took on the space. It wasn’t something I wanted to leave out at the beginning so I stored it away and forgot about it for 5 years, until I began work on the studio as it is now - and then felt it was an important part of of the community.
To this day no one has been charged for these crimes.
As @talktoross says, RIP and justice for all.
