Happy Gotcha Day to this fluffy pants boy! 1 year ago I ‘failed’ at fostering this little guy. Coincidentally I also called my first cirque show the day before so you were one hell of a way to celebrate.
Here’s what I know:
1) 2023 was way harder than I could’ve expected.
2) I hit new highs and lows in my career and navigating both of those extremes has changed me forever.
3) This post was easier to make than I thought it would be. When I was reflecting on 2023, it had a lot of low points but also there were so many good people I met along the way that helped me find joy and laughter in even the most stressful places. Not all are pictured but all of them are memorable to me.
4) 2024 is here now and it’s going to be a whole new adventure.

There’s a lot I miss about her (mostly the wild hair colors 💙💜) Trying to keep up with that level of drive she had is tough but it got us this far. I don’t think she’d believe all the places we’ve been since then so I’m putting it out there that future Mel will have even more to impress her with.
