Meet B.S.N. Class of 2026 graduate Leslie Okhirkhian!
From rural Virginia to the ICU, Leslie turned her passion for helping her community into a purpose-driven career.
After the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped her path, she pivoted her career to nursing, balancing motherhood, rigorous studies, and a passion for serving others along the way. Now, she’s preparing to begin her career in critical care, bringing both skill and compassion to every patient she serves.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the accomplishments of our Class of 2026 graduates from the M.S.N. and D.N.P. programs.
The event recognized recipients of the Clinical Excellence Awards, Academic Achievement honors, Highest GPA, the Nurse Executive Leadership Award, Advanced Practice Leadership Award, Scholar Award, and Advocacy Award.
We also honored our dedicated preceptors, Mobile Health Scholars, ANEW Scholar Award recipients, and ODU Interprofessional Community Healthcare Scholars for their commitment to advancing healthcare and serving our communities.
A special congratulations to our esteemed faculty members recognized for 10 and 15 years of service and dedication to nursing education.

Yesterday, we held our B.S.N. Student Awards Ceremony to honor the exceptional achievements, leadership, and dedication of our nursing students. We were proud to recognize students receiving the Chair’s Award for outstanding academic achievement among pre-licensure nursing students, including seven students who achieved a 4.0 GPA.
Additional honors presented included the ODU Outstanding Scholar Award, given by the ODU Alumni Association; ODU Scholarship recipients; the Clinical Excellence Award; Student Nurses Association Award; MEN’s Initiative Leadership Award; Military Monarchs Graduation cords presentation; and Nursing Honors Program stoles.
