✨ The Carpenters’ Redo Reception ✨ A Real-Life Fairytale
On June 20, 2025, the Carpenters were married in a beautiful ceremony… but due to circumstances beyond their control, there was no caterer on their big day.
But GOD had the final say.
The next morning, our first call came from Ricki Davis-Robinson. And in just under 24 hours, a full redo reception was planned for Sunday, June 22nd.
What followed was a powerful outpouring of love, creativity, and community… the village in full effect. And on Juneteenth weekend, no less.
This was more than a reception.
It was a testimony.
A second chance wrapped in grace.
A real-life fairytale.
🎉 Special thanks to everyone who made it happen:

Meet Brittany… also known as “Chef’s biggest headache” 😂💛
Brittany has been part of the Odom’s Kitchen family since 2022, and chances are you’ve seen her somewhere along the way. From catering events and deliveries to Chef Brandon’s pop-ups, she’s always there with one of the biggest and most welcoming smiles in the room.
When she’s not helping us keep things together behind the scenes, Brittany spends her days as an educator, helping shape young minds and pouring into the next generation. Her ability to balance both worlds with grace, patience, and positive energy is something we truly appreciate.
And standing right beside her is her son, John… one of the young future chefs coming up right before our eyes 👨🏽🍳🔥
John is currently a sophomore in high school with a growing passion for the culinary world. When he’s not focused on school, you can usually find him in the kitchen creating dishes, sharpening his culinary skills, and learning everything he can about the food industry.
His favorite item from Odom’s Kitchen? The Hot Honey Wings 🍗🔥
John is already taking major steps toward his future. Next year, he’ll attend CTEC for Culinary Arts, and this summer he’ll participate in the EBR Fast Forward Program for Food Science.
At Odom’s Kitchen, family means everything… and watching generations grow, learn, and build together is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do 💛

Meet Amira Nasr… our Operations Assistant and one of the steady hands helping keep everything together behind the scenes ✨
Always just one call away and always showing up with a smile, Amira is often the calm in the middle of the storm. Whether it’s helping manage operations, supporting the team, or stepping in wherever needed, she brings patience, professionalism, and positive energy everywhere she goes.
With 5–10 years of experience in the catering and bar industry, Amira understands the fast-paced world of hospitality and what it takes to keep things running smoothly. Outside of Odom’s Kitchen, she is also a hairstylist and licensed real estate agent… proving she can truly do it all.
At Odom’s Kitchen, we’re grateful for the people who help create the experience behind the food… and Amira is definitely one of them 💛
Louisiana… this is your time to shine. 💛⚜️
It may not be our business WHO you vote for.
But IF you vote? That is everybody’s business.
If you think your vote won’t count… vote anyway.
If you think one voice can’t make a difference… vote anyway.
If you feel discouraged, overlooked, or unheard… vote anyway.
Too many people fought, marched, sacrificed, and lost their lives for us to sit home and stay silent. Your vote is your voice… and silence has never changed a thing.
If you’re frustrated… vote.
If you want change… vote.
If you’re tired of being overlooked… vote.
If you care about your children, your future, your community, your paycheck, your schools, your streets, your rights… VOTE.
Don’t hand your future over to people who showed up when you didn’t.
Louisiana, we cannot complain about systems we refuse to participate in changing.
Show up. Speak up. Vote. 🗳️

Meet Charlett … our unofficial Chaos Coordinator and the woman responsible for helping keep Chef in line 😂
Charlett serves as a member of our Board of Directors and Strategy Consultant, bringing over 20 years of experience as a business owner, leader, and problem-solver to the Odom’s Kitchen family.
Make no mistake… she’s always in the shadows helping make sure Odom’s Kitchen succeeds.
Part chaplain, part CEO, part “don’t play with me or about my God,” Charlett is the kind of person who will pray for you, correct you, and hand you a strategy plan to fix your life… all before her coffee gets cold.
She starts her mornings with Jesus, walks her dog like she’s downloading divine instructions, and somehow manages to turn grief, growth, faith, and real-life chaos into words that hit you right in your spirit… and sometimes directly in your bad habits too.
She’s the person people call when life is falling apart… and the same person they quietly avoid when they know she’s about to tell them the truth they’ve been trying to dodge. Equal parts grace and accountability, compassion and conviction.
She’s not chasing platforms… she’s focused on impact.
Not performing religion… building real relationship.
And honestly, if you stay around her long enough, you’ll either level up… or get uncomfortable trying not to.
But don’t let the prayer cloth fool you 😂
Charlett is absolutely not the one to play with… and you definitely don’t want her catching anybody playing with The Odoms either.
She’ll pray over the situation first… but after that? May the Lord guide you accordingly 💛
In short…
If growth had a spokesperson, discipline had a redemption story, and faith hit the gym… you’d get Charlett.

Meet Byron Washington… our courier, cousin, community leader, and one of the people who has supported Chef Brandon’s dream since their teenage years 👏🏾
A proud Baton Rouge native, Byron studied Economics at the University of North Texas and later earned his M.B.A. from Southern University.
Beyond Odom’s Kitchen, Byron is deeply rooted in community development, arts, culture, and economic growth throughout North Baton Rouge. He is the founder of Sky-Walker Productions, an arts and culture engagement group, as well as the founder of Scotland Saturdays, a beloved community open market supporting local small business vendors and entrepreneurs.
Professionally, Byron has served as a Senior Accounts Manager with Verizon and currently serves as President and Board Chair of NBR Now Blue Ribbon Commission Inc. The organization focuses on strengthening North Baton Rouge through public-private partnerships, grassroots engagement, research, and recommendations to local leadership and decision-makers.
His impact across the city continues to grow. Byron was awarded a grant from the Levitt Foundation to bring outdoor music concerts to Baton Rouge, particularly the Scotlandville community. He also served on the Mayor’s Transition Team and currently serves as Chair of the Historic Preservation Council for the City of Baton Rouge.
He has also been featured as a speaker for both Pecha Kucha Baton Rouge and TEDx Scotlandville.
At Odom’s Kitchen, family and community are at the heart of everything we do… and Byron represents both beautifully.

Meet Adrian Butler… our true Jack of All Trades and Chef Brandon’s right hand at Odom’s Kitchen 👏🏾
A 47-year-old Army veteran, Adrian wears many hats both in life and in business… husband, father, friend, cook, driver, mechanic, problem solver, and dependable team player wherever he’s needed most.
Adrian originally joined Odom’s Kitchen as a delivery driver, but quickly became an essential part of the kitchen staff through his hard work, dedication, and willingness to step in wherever needed. Meet Dr. Berkita S. Bradford… distinguished hospitality educator, industry expert, mentor, and valued member of the Odom’s Kitchen Board of Directors 👏🏾
A proud graduate of Grambling State University and Kansas State University, Dr. Bradford brings more than 30 years of hospitality, tourism, leadership, and educational experience to the Odom’s Kitchen family.
Her impressive career has included leadership and faculty roles at St. John's University, Virginia State University, and North Carolina Central University, where she serves as Department Chair of Hospitality Management. She also serves on several boards and organizations throughout the hospitality community, helping shape the future of the industry through mentorship, innovation, and service.
Inspired by her love for people and passion for student development, Dr. Bradford is deeply committed to preparing future hospitality leaders both professionally and personally. As she beautifully stated, “When I meet students, I want them to leave me better than when I met them, both academically and socially.”
Her dedication to excellence, leadership, and community impact makes her an incredible asset to Odom’s Kitchen as we continue building legacy through food, family, and service.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Berkita S. Bradford to the Odom’s Kitchen family 💛🖤

Meet Jayden Bouligny, whom we affectionately call Chef Jr. 👏🏾
Hello everyone, my name is Jayden Bouligny. I’m from New Roads, Louisiana, and I currently attend The Southern University A&M College. I work as the chef’s assistant and try my best to assist everyone else in the kitchen as well. I’m 19 years old and currently working on getting my bachelor’s degree in social work. Also, a fun fact about me is that I like to play video games and spend time traveling.
One thing I like about working at Odom’s is my co-workers. Not every job you go to will have people who accept you for who you are, but here at Odom’s I really feel at home. Chef Brandon and the whole team have taught me many things, and I keep learning from them every day. This is the kind of energy I love to be around, and it keeps me excited and motivates me to go to work every day.
