This year we have a program that, as usual, travels between different dance styles and a deep awareness of their development in a globalised world living under capitalism and a problematic eurocentric education that tries to erase the idea of pluriverses as production of knowledge. We work with intertwining vocabularies, creating and imagining futures for movement and cultures intersecting. This brought through the years a lot of questions and we root our work in unfolding difficult themes with the pleasure of creating art. We will always try to do better, so we also approach our program as activism, side by side with being a dance training and a knowledge producer. We may not have the answers, but we can rise a lot of questions, that together, we can try to develop into answers and into action. BODY POETRY IN A COLLAPSING LANDSCAPE 💫 We dive through dance into discussing how to proceed. This time we question of poetry, abstraction, fluidity can also be structures for revolution. The world seems to be collapsing under human hands. Patriarchy, capitalism, fascism. Our work is focused in INTERSECTIONS and FUSION, based in these last years in: Hip Hop, House Dance, Vogue, Waacking, Popping, Fusion Bellydance (name that we strongly dislike), Raqs Sharki, Contemporary dance, Floorwork, Capoeira, North African Dances in their history and present. With this we connect history, social issues, politics and the search for dance as a spiritual, celebratory and resistance practice. ODI started in 2015 and we have been creating family since then. We are a safe space, that embraces queerness in all its shapes. We are strongly anti fascist and anti colonialism in all its shapes. We embrace difference with care and love, we don’t aim to create a space with a single point of view and we propose dialogues with respect. We don’t avoid the difficult topics that can arise from the work of fusion, that is very complex. Everybody is welcomed under the umbrella of mutual respect. For detailed info please write to: [email protected] Share with friends that you feel can be aligned with this. Sharing is caring.

Almost closing the year we start thinking in what dreams, disruptions, provocations, community goals we can have for our gathering in 2026. And we are open for your own wishes and requests 😏. Write a word. Write a poem. Send a DM. Think a dream. Dance a wish. Draw a plan. Love, 🤍

Orchidaceae Intensive is something in between reality and a possibility of a future we dream together. The days pass inside the studio and outside, walking in the city, stepping the sand on the beach, talking and listening, dancing in the studio and in the club. After we finish, the goal is that each one can continue to reverberate the love and connections, to spread the magic and awareness, to keep the flow and the groove. Each one teach one. As the world is not a simple place, this magic is created around so many talks about privilege, colonization, racism, cultural appropriation. And we dive into roots, ancestry, land, cities, astrology, somatics. To create spaces we crave for so we can share it and grow them. Its magical to have a space where we xan weave subjects, practices, movement, history study and create community. We walk through Clubbing and street dances meeting traditional north african dances in a queer safe space, where everybody is seen, from the body to the cosmos. Each person is important here. Thank you.

The solstice arrives today. It’s beautiful to have the opportunity and extra window for perspective, in how the place where we are in the world, makes our experiences so different. Everything that happens in our lives changes who we are and how we communicate, live, think, act, react, rest. With this said, there’s no problem at all of this otherness, just beauty and richness. Biodiversity is the world natural state. The greed for power, racism, misoginy, colonialism, capitalism, and every phobia in the world, made the "other" be feared. We are beautiful all together! Where I am in the Northern hemisphere we have the longest day of the year and we mark the beginning of Summer. In the Southern hemisphere the winter solstice is approaching. And even amidst the chaos of the climate emergency, it’s still possible to feel the wheel of life turning. “The data show that gatherer-hunters are generally nonterritorial and bilocal; reject group aggression and competition; share their resources freely; value egalitarianism and personal autonomy in the context of group cooperation” Rohrlich-Leavitt noted in 1976. Maybe we are not the most advanced civilisation that existed on earth. Apart and above any human interaction, the cosmos continues to move. There’s a huge amount of uncertainty and fear in the air right now. We need to transform them in dreams and possibilities. So as today, we dive into the power of the sun, symbol of energy, of abundance and renewal. The peak of the year can often be a full and vibrant time, but the most beautiful thing of these cycles is that they will happen no matter what humans do. We cannot control them, we cannot change them, we can only bow to the insignificance of our own existence and honour the truth of not being important. And these cycles are the only time measure we should focus on. We are together with the cosmos and we forget that too often. Today, also celebrating the beginning of Cancer season, bringing comfort, nurture vibes and the moon is in Taurus asking us to release urgency and to not rush. Everything that capitalism and a patriarchal, war oriented world hates: LOVE, CARE, COMMUNITY & RESPECT. Happy solstice.

So, here it is. This year we are having an extraordinary number of requests for scholarship, even before we announce it. We have been creating space for sliding scale and full scholarships in the last years and now, more than ever, we really really dream about ways to make accessibility not being all about money. For this year we had two donations (thank YOU so much) for FULL SCHOLARSHIP from two students that prefer to stay anonimous and we will open TWO more slots on our side. Also we will open 4 slots for HALF scholarship. So how to access it: - send an email to [email protected] with scholarship request on the subject and we will answer carefully with info. - you can prepare bio, motivation letter and video - if you still don't have the full program please ask for it, as we need you to be able to atend to the full week - we will give priority to bipoc people, people coming from the global south and/or people that are in a precarious migration situation, living in any european country. - just to make it clear: the scholarship is only for the program, we can't cover travels, accomodation or food. Thank you for sharing with other people that you know that can be interested. And thank you to everybody that understand that by being fare and supporting the intensive, we can open these spaces and also have a regular work during the year where we can create community, regardless of the economic situation of each person. To everybody that already payed THANK YOU. These spaces need to be accessible to everyone. We need to at least try to make them more accessible. We need to create more awareness around intensives and festivals. If we don't create flexibility and find other ways, we will never break the privilege systems. This is also decolonizing education and dance. If you have more and in abundance, give more. If the conditions are to high but you really want to come, write to us. We will try to find ways. We are truly trying to learn how to make it sustainable but fare. This is our 10th edition and we do it ourselves with a lot of LOVE. Beautiful friendships and work dynamics were born during these 10 years. Thank to each one. Love, Piny

We are heading for the final moments of preparation for our intensive. We have a few slots available until they are gone and soon we will open a number of scholarship possibilities. We try to work in a way that allows everybody that wants to come to participate and we encourage fareness and circularity in the way we propose a fee. The program is all out. You can send an email to [email protected] so you receive the full detailed info, with a lot of texts, schedule and reflection about our week together. If you want to give a quicker check on the schedule you can see it in the link on the bio. This is a final round year and we will take a break of ODI in 2026. So if you feel like joining the family the invitation is done. The theme proposed for reflection this year is the possibility of creating "an outrageous future of collective freedom". And if there's a time we need this is now! Through the study of street and clubbing dances and their intersection with north african vocabularies, we will honour ancestry and respect for eachother, aiming that from this meeting we can grow into deeper actions after. Love, Piny
