Witnessing the seaweed harvest in Lembongan Island feels like a step back in time. It’s a community-driven craft where the tides dictate the schedule, and the harvest eventually finds its way into everything from your morning toothpaste to high-end skincare in Japan and the US.
Beyond the beauty and the calm, it’s the culture of this beautiful island that keeps me coming back.
The tooth filing ceremony was an eye and mouth opening experience. The Balinese smooth away the fang-like qualities of human teeth and, in doing so, smooth away the savage aspects of the soul. The aim of the ceremony is to symbolically “cut down” on the six negative traits that are inherent in humans: lust, greed, wrath, pride, jealousy, and intoxication. As scary and painful as it might sound, the whole thing went quick and it really seemed as if these teenagers were happy to go through one of the most important rites of their life.

There are nights where everything just aligns and Saturday was exactly that.
Looking out across the packed main room, watching the light from the sea of mirror balls fracturing into a thousand stars across the dancefloor, the past and the present merged into one. The spontaneous shouts of joy, the hugs between old friends, and the wide-eyed smiles of a new generation. It was a poetic reminder of why we do this.
1000 of you came together to celebrate the return of JACK. To see Ääniwalli filled to capacity for an entirely local lineup is a massive statement. It proves that the heart of Helsinki’s nightlife doesn’t beat for trends; it beats for the music and the community we have built together for decades.
To our Room 2 selectors. Lil’ Tony, HiToshi, Roberto Rodriguez, Sallidoing, Tomi K, and DJ Wuf, thank you for those incredible back to back sets. The synergy between the old school and the new guard was electric, and we are so grateful for the energy you poured out from the booth. In the main room, that start to finish journey allowed us to tell the story of JACK exactly how it was meant to be told.
A massive thank you to the whole Ääniwalli team for being such beautiful hosts. We want to give a special spotlight to the lighting crew who brought the rooms to life and made the night truly transcendent. Anna, your work in the main room was stunning, and Jaime, you kept the second room beating perfectly. And thank you Pyroman for providing us with an endless supply of smoke.
But most of all, thank you to each and every one of YOU who brought the energy and the love. You didn’t just attend a party; you breathed life back into a legacy. Our hearts are completely full.

JACK FLASHBACK 5 - YK & Venue (2011-2013) 🔴
The countdown is almost over! We are just two nights away from returning to the dancefloor at Ääniwalli and the excitement is getting real. Tickets are selling fast and it is looking like another epic night to remember. But before we make new memories, let’s go back to the last flashback.
Between 2011 and 2013, JACK held its home on Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu at clubs YK and later Venue. This was our last residency and a defining era for our community. These parties were held bi-monthly and were packed without fail, with a capacity of 600 people and an energy that vibrated through the entire building.
The main room was a perfect black box with high ceilings, giving us the physical scale to truly push our sound and visual production. Having two rooms allowed us to showcase even more of Helsinki’s local talent alongside a powerful sound system by Precision Sound. We were proud to host an incredible line of international guests in that booth, including Kiki and Aeroplane, as well as the mighty Amnesia club from Ibiza.
It was a period defined by great sound, packed rooms, and a shared surrender to the music. Now, the wait is finally over. Don’t wait until the last minute to secure your place.

ONE WEEK TO GO 🚨
In March 2025, we gathered at Ääniwalli for a night that stayed with us long after the lights came up: Misc 25. Celebrating 25 years of Misc Management, it was a beautiful testament to the community we have built together over the decades.
JACK hosted the main room, beginning with a very special Classical Trancelations set by Lowland, setting the stage for a long and epic set by Orkidea. In the second room, it was all about the classics with a legendary lineup that kept the energy high all night long.
The atmosphere at the sold out event was truly unforgettable. Seeing multiple generations of the Helsinki party scene come together on that dancefloor is exactly what it is all about.
Next Saturday, April 18th, we are bringing that feeling back. It is already looking like another incredible night for the books. We welcome all generations of music and nightlife lovers to come together and experience the legacy once again.

JACK FLASHBACK 04: The Redrum Years
Between 2009 and 2010, JACK was held at Redrum on Vuorikatu 6. To this day, it remains one of our absolute favorite venues and times in JACK's history. The parties were packed without fail, with an energy that was felt long after the parties were over, until we did it all again...
Redrum was the true definition of an underground club. It had low ceilings that trapped the heat and the energy, creating an intimate space that was essentially one big, focused dancefloor. There was nowhere to hide, and that was the beauty of it. It was just the music, the lights, and the people.
It was also a landmark for the Helsinki scene as the first venue in Finland to feature a permanent Funktion-One sound system and acoustics tweaked to perfection. That level of audio quality in such an intimate space changed the game. JACK also had a line of legendary DJs come to play in that small and always fun booth, including Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Jody Wisternoff, and Matthew Dekay. Those nights solidified the JACK sound as something that was deep, current, and always built for the floor.
