Conceived as an intimate home for three generations, Voids in Thread explores connection through spatial continuity and restraint. Anchored around existing mango and gooseberry trees, the house allows landscape to shape its built form, creating moments of pause and interaction from the very threshold.
A series of courtyards, sit-outs, and a sunken living space unfold into a double-height volume, establishing a seamless dialogue between levels. Vertical voids become the central design device—drawing in light, enabling ventilation, and visually linking spaces to foster constant engagement between inhabitants.
The staircase core, defined by earthy textures and filtered daylight, acts as both a spatial and emotional anchor. Open kitchen and dining areas further extend into these voids, ensuring that even private zones remain visually connected, reinforcing a sense of togetherness.
Through a careful balance of minimal expression, climatic responsiveness, and spatial layering, the house transforms voids into active elements—binding the home into a cohesive, lived experience.
