what does it mean to own your corner of the web?
tomorrows workshop will cover having a:
- fully custom folio starting point using VScode & GitHub
- basic idea of hmtl, css & js (we will treat code as building blocks like lego)
- piece of internet space that you have full ownership over (your folio yipee!!)
@dinhvudinhvudinhvu as a special guest who’s web-building talents are worth taking note of, ava will take over the second half of the workshop showing you their processes, thoughts & ideas about what it means to build meaningful web interactions.

SOS2 is a live performance that encourages audience members to participate using a web page in the form of a menu, which they would order fictional food items to contribute to a collective amount spent, which would in turn affect the performance piece itself. the more you “spent”, the more insane the night would get.
To get this working, our team hosted websockets on a webpage, which would send information to a server that TouchDesigner would interpret, this would automate sound effects to act as cues for our performers as the total would reach certain thresholds. this lead to the finale of the act, which would include a small vj piece to accompany the performers :)
Introducing our first Hybrid Artist: Adrian Frichitthavong.
Adrian is returning to showcase the final rendition of ‘Held, Instantaneously’. Swipe right, spawn an NPC. A satirical dating app connected to a live terrarium where your casual gestures have consequences. What power do we hold in a swipe? If you missed this at our last exhibition, ‘Held Briefly’, now is your chance to explore his digital environment.
Adrian is currently exploring experimental game design, combining interaction with game environments, simulation, and user experience. His work examines how apps, interfaces, and online systems shape human behavior and connection through satirical simulated NPC observation and user interaction. Adrian holds a background in Digital Media and is currently completing his postgraduate studies in Games & Interaction.

A little teaser into one of our interactive works for Held Briefly: ‘Held Instaneously’ by Adrian Frichitthavong. Scan the QR code on the screen this weekend to experience an artwork that responds to you—reflecting how we’re endlessly held by our devices and the connections they promise.
Held, Instantaneously inverts the exhibition’s premise. Rather than brief encounters that leave lasting impressions, it explores our relation to digital immediacy where we’re perpetually ‘held’ by our devices in a state of constant, unsatisfying and fleeting connections. Your swipes become NPC’s in a terrarium, mirroring our own captivity to constant connectivity.
Adrian Frichitthavong combines interactive web interface & game engines to synthesise playful experiences that foster experimentation, curiosity and player agency within their installations. Latest works explore the ubiquitous nature of our phones & how they coexist within our world, weaving between intimacy and isolation.

Hugh F crafts tender, funny, and unflinchingly honest folk songs with the help of his velvet voicebox and a finely tuned radar for life’s quiet absurdities.
He’ll be bringing these songs to @lazythinking__ on Saturday June 28th at 3pm, performing alongside the marvelous Sarah Sykes @syko.killer (@sunscreen_band ) and harmony duo The Darling Hearts @the.darlinghearts .
