For most of my career I have been a registered nurse in public health, working within systems that were already under strain long before COVID.
Like so many colleagues, I have seen and felt burnout, a type that is not always sudden, but often a slow fading of self.
That lived reality became the seed of Weathering Blue, a game about burnout told through the perspective of a registered nurse.
It explores the journey from overwhelming pressure to moments of quiet recovery and collective strength. Through dreamlike interactions and light puzzles, you uncover moments of stillness and hope tucked in everyday storms.
This project has been collaborative with Cuau (oddgoo), who has been supporting the design and technical foundations behind the scenes.
As a woman working at the intersection of healthcare and game development, I am proud to contribute to the growing visibility of women in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (#STEAM), showing that nursing can extend beyond the boundaries of the health system.
🎏
I am grateful to share that Weathering Blue has received Screen NSW Seed funding 2025 for its next stage of development. This support means so much, as it helps us continue shaping a story beyond what we could have imagined.
At its heart, Weathering Blue is about the moments that help us return to ourselves, a story I hope will resonate far beyond healthcare.
We are building this game with a consultation space because burnout is a shared experience.
