One of the perks of doing the tech for the Around the Block class by @jmaskoquilts is that I get to listen in to the whole class. I was super inspired after the first class and decided to make a block!
I still don’t love stitch and flip but the instruction Johanna gave in class helped my points be sharp and my edges align.
We have another session of this virtual class Around the Block starting in November on Monday evenings (EST). Check out @fabricspark for more info!
We get to hang out with these awesome quilts this week in our first week of the Summer Quilt Showcase. We have three different quilters this week
The first is by Lizz at @oddberrystudio . Believe it or not, Lizz has been quilting for less than 2 years. She was employee #1 at Fabric Spark and now has her own long arming biz. She came up with this beauty while riffing on curves. More to come from Lizz, later this summer.
The second is by Lauren Uslinov, a psychiatrist and self-taught quilter from Unionville. Her favourite fabric designers are @iamrashidacolemanhale@alexiamarcelleabegg and @giucy_giuce We love her bright sampler with its pretty multi colour border!
The last quilt is by @shirlgirl55 and is freshly arrived from #QuiltCanada2025, where it was featured in their Juried Show. Shirley is a beloved teacher here at Fabric Spark. She has been quilting for 35 years and is indispensable on our class schedule. Her favourite designers are @slbphilly and @annamariahorner and the quilt is her own beautiful design.
Come see them in person, they are gorgeous!!

I finally had some time to do some quilting in my new basement studio space! It’s been a busy few weeks getting everything moved and set up and organized, and I’ve had a few long arm clients to quilt for.
Really happy how this one turned out so far. I wanted to get better at sewing curves so I thought, why not do a whole quilt of them? After 100 quarter circle blocks I’m feeling a bit more confident. I just need to get it on the machine to finish it off.
Soooo last week this happened. I have fully partaken of the quilting koolaid and I’m all in now.
Some pics from day 1 (purple fabric) and day 2 (aqua fabric) practice. I’m just getting used to the machine and how she behaves while trying out some quilt from the back pantographs. Today I managed to load my practice quilt without referring to the videos! I also learned how to do a plumb line and baste the top and sides with a straight line using channel locks.
More exciting news to come soon but for now I’ll be sharing my progress with practicing!

I’ve been working on some big (hopefully) exciting things to announce soon (stay tuned!), but here’s a little AirTag holder for my keychain I hand stitched recently.
It’s all hand stitched. The quilting is done with @wonderfilspecialtythread frutti 12 wt thread and the construction is using 50wt cotton thread.
So excited to show off my first sold item! I feel like a real business now 😀
A handy zipper folio for crafting on the go. I’ve been using mine for EPP supplies so I can take them around the house with me. It zips to take up minimal space but opens flat for easy access to all the crafting goodies.
I’m thinking about making a pattern for this, let me know if you’d be interested!
Over the past few days I’ve been teaching myself how to make infinitely repeatable patterns on the iPad. This is the first “finished” design that I’m happy with! I find the process very meditative and yet another way to express some of my creativity.

This past weekend I took a break from my quilting projects and spent some time making a new bag for myself.
