At the same time, the connection to the place and its specificity is reinforced through the incorporation of new elements and the recovery of existing ones.

During the competition, the theme "Esqueix" or "Cutting" (translated from Catalan) was understood as a natural element inserted into another element to revitalize it. Turning to the specific project, these cuttings serve as a rationale for responding to the natural setting and, at the same time, to its former military use, adapting it to current needs.
The project is structured around two cuttings, inserted to revitalize the castle, precisely at the elevation where the Cavaller and the Governor's House are located. These elements were developed through an in-depth study of the site and its pre-existing features.
