Saturday, April 9, 2026 🚔 Stanton Deputies conducted a traffic stop near Cerritos Ave & Fern Ave on a vehicle occupied by five individuals. During the stop, one passenger fled on foot into the surrounding neighborhood. Deputies quickly established a containment perimeter, and the suspect — later identified as a juvenile — was safely taken into custody. A search of the area led to the recovery of a loaded firearm. The juvenile was arrested and booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall. Outstanding proactive policing by our Stanton Deputies. 👏#ocsd #stanton

A Stanton Deputy located a stolen vehicle in the area of Beach Boulevard and Starr Street. The vehicle yielded at Beach Boulevard and Orange Avenue in the City of Anaheim. The Stanton Specialized Enforcement Team (SET) located a felony vehicle connected to an armed robbery out of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in the area of Dale Avenue and Chapman Avenue. The vehicle yielded on Cellini Avenue and Loraleen Street in the City of Garden Grove. Deputies conducted a high-risk felony stop, safely detaining four subjects pending investigation. It was later determined that the individuals were not involved, and they were released at the scene. The vehicle, however, was towed and impounded for evidentiary purposes. Outstanding vigilance and professionalism by SET—proactive policing in action. 🚔

A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and multiple credit cards. Three subjects were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding felony warrants. On Sunday, April 5, 2026, at around 5:30 a.m., deputies were called to the area of Main Street and Pacific Street in Stanton after reports of a possible dead body. Deputies arrived and discovered a man, later identified as Anthony Lee Carlos, 37, of Fullerton, deceased from what was determined to be a gunshot wound. During the investigation, investigators located an illegal gambling house and detained approximately 50 people near Cerritos Avenue and Flower Avenue. Six of those individuals were arrested for outstanding warrants unrelated to the incident. Multiple illegal gambling machines were removed from the residence and booked as evidence of illegal gambling. Late on Tuesday, April 7, Sheriff’s Homicide investigators arrested 43-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Clayton of Fullerton on suspicion of homicide and booked him at Orange County Jail. It appears that Carlos and Clayton knew each other prior to the incident. No additional information will be released at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. Around 5:30 a.m. yesterday, Sunday, April 5, deputies responded to the area of Pacific Street and Main Street in Stanton regarding a report of a dead body. Deputies arrived and confirmed that a male in his 30s was deceased from an apparent homicide. This appears to be an isolated incident with no known ongoing threat to the community. During the investigation, investigators detained approximately 50 people at a suspected illegal gambling location near Cerritos Avenue and Flower Avenue. Six of those individuals were arrested for outstanding warrants unrelated to the incident. Multiple illegal gambling machines were removed from the residence and booked as evidence of illegal gambling. The decedent's identity will be disclosed once the coroner has confirmed it and the next of kin have been notified. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
