The earworm “Kars4Kids” jingle has been banned from California’s airwaves by an Orange County judge who ruled it could mislead listeners into believing donations were going to underprivileged children in the state.
Superior Court Judge Gassia Apkarian found the donations actually fuel an organization in New Jersey that spent the money on matchmaking services for young Jews and trips to Israel for 17- and 18-year-olds.

In less than four years, Ronda Rousey helped propel the UFC and women’s mixed martial arts to unforeseen successes. The 2008 Olympic bronze medalist — armed with her judo, swagger, charisma and a knack for first-round finishes — became the first woman signed by the UFC as well as its first female champion in 2013.
Then, in late 2016, the bantamweight phenom seemingly disappeared, on the heels of her second loss, to fellow great Amanda Nunes.
A decade later, she is back. This time, the Riverside resident and Santa Monica High alum says it’s one and done as she squares off against MMA pioneer Gina Carano in a featherweight main event for the Most Valuable Promotion on Saturday, May 16, at Intuit Dome.

The Rams’ 2026 schedule was unveiled Thursday as part of the NFL’s schedule release. The 17-game slate ends with two games in three weeks against one of their fiercest rivals – the Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams will have to wait until Week 16 to face the Seahawks. The first meeting between the teams since the Seahawks beat the Rams in the NFC championship game will come on Christmas Day in Seattle.
Those two rivalry games – sandwiched around a road trip to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17 – will close out a gauntlet featuring nine games against playoff teams that the Rams will navigate in their quest to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2021 season.

The Chargers’ season opener, as well as the rest of their 17-game schedule, was announced as part of the NFL’s official release on Thursday.
Their opener on Sept. 13 against the Cardinals, one of the league’s struggling teams, could give the Chargers a solid jump on what appears to be a promising season.
With a new-look offensive line under offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, the Chargers have a chance to be a real threat out of the AFC West – but only if they can navigate a schedule rated the ninth-hardest.
