We have another exciting new class addition to the summer schedule! This Silversmithing and Stonesetting intensive class is a full day course where you learn how to construct a ring from start to finish with sterling silver wire and tubing. You’ll also learn to set a faceted gemstone in a bezel style setting. Designed for all levels, this is a great immersive workshop that introduces you to the fundamentals of sawing, forming, soldering, sanding, polishing and stone setting in a fun and supportive environment.
Super excited to announce we’ve added an Intermediate Silversmithing workshop to the class roster! This class is designed for returning students who have taken our Introduction to Silversmithing Class. In this full 8 hour intensive, you’ll learn to create a silver chain bracelet entirely by hand which makes for excellent soldering practice. Figure Charms are back! A brand new batch of twelve one of kind charms set with brightly colored sapphire cabochons and white diamonds in 14k yellow gold. The design for these was originally conceived three years ago after a visit to a Stone Age sculpture exhibit at the Chicago Field Museum. I was obsessed with the Cycladic fertility sculptures I saw at the show and immediately returned to my studio to carve the waxes for these. I designed these as a nod to ancient craft and adornments and to be a symbol of the wearer’s sacred femininity. Hope you all love them as much as I do! xx Cindy
