And to think it all started with a USB rock band microphone and the free recording software “audacity”. In 2009, I acquired an MXL xlr style mic from a friends father who had passed away. I quickly realized the xlr connection couldn’t just be plugged into my laptop so I started researching and found out how and why condenser mics need 48 volt (phantom power), and the need for an audio interface.
This snowballed into a deep passion and troubleshooting mindset of continuing to better the quality. Here we are all these years later! Now, we have arguably the best interface in the audio industry as well as top tier monitoring and recording equipment.
Still growing, still learning, still loving every bit of what we do here at Occupy. Here’s to always learning!!!

I want to take a minute to wish my brother @clay_mcnail a happy birthday! I wanted to share these pictures because they reflect what Nick and I do best, build something that lasts (while having fun doing it). For context, the picture of the sorting hat looking light fixture….Nick sent me this picture to show me what fixture he chose for the lobby lights. 😂 We built Occupy from the ground up, and it’s been an amazing journey so far. I‘m grateful to have a friend like Nick and we’re excited for what is to come in the near future with the growth of @occupystudio . Nick, happy Bday brother.. Recorded my first vocal in 2009. Fast forward 16 years and here we are, store front on UD campus for the past 8 years. From recording meditation singing bowls with @jennboileaucoaching to mixing a song featuring @torylanez with @andrewatsonjr to recording the @universityofdelaware@udance line dance for the @iu_ftk foundation year after year! We love what we do, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to call this place home.
