The idea of painting Pachamama has been on my mind for quite some time. Two and a half weeks ago I decided it was time for it to come to life. I feel as an artist to always listen to your intuition and paint what is calling you.
This painting pays tribute and respect to @nemonte.nenquimo for all of her work and activism she has done to protect the Amazonian rainforest and its people. She is a reminder for us to protect nature…we are not separate from nature, if nature goes we go.
The painting is full of hope and bright colors. The patterns are part of indigenous textiles that appear as a bridge between ourselves and the environment. As a final touch I added a bouquet of Peruvian lilies to symbolize feminine power and wisdom.
I wanted to use my favorite painting as an inspiration (the Mona Lisa). It is time for indigenous women and tribes to take center stage and for their voices to be heard. The same goes for sacred plant medicine. Sacred plant medicine deserves respect and it’s not a trend!
Peruvian blood runs through my veins and I’m super proud and grateful to be part of such a magical land, to be an artist & to follow my path.

In this piece I decided to blur the body and leave the n1pps un blurred because we have been living in a world where they have hammered into our skulls since we have been little about the separation of mankind from nature. WE ARE NATURE as well! They censor us telling us we can’t show the whole picture, is either one or the other....bodies are beautiful and they should all be celebrated. Love yourself.

This is the first etching I have done after not doing any printmaking for 10+ years. It felt crazy to jump into it again but I knew the results were gonna be worth it.
This particular etching is based on a painting I did of @redsbodyart years ago. The painting is 30” x 40” on canvas and it is for sale. It is one of the most amazing paintings I’ve done and it is looking for a home 🏡.

This is the start of more oil paintings on Copper plates. There is a huge project with this medium, but I’m gonna work on it during the summer since it requires a lot of planing. I can’t say much about what I’m gonna be doing but all I can say is that is going to be “unique”, like nothing you have seen before.
I love how the copper shows through in the armor. It really conveys the message of metal and rust.

The term “red pill” originated in the 1999 film The Matrix, where the protagonist, Neo, is offered a choice between a red pill (representing knowledge and the harsh truth of reality) and a blue pill (representing blissful ignorance and remaining in a comfortable illusion). Over time, the metaphor has been adopted by various online communities and political groups to describe an “awakening” to a perceived hidden truth.
Every 6-8 months I paint a new Mona Lisa reflecting the state of the world we are living in and also my inner world. The new one I make is gonna be crazy!
