Megumi Shauna Arai (
@oneflewup ), whose work is represented by Object & Thing, spent much of last summer as the inaugural participant in the Design Index program at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum Library (
@cooperhewitt @silibraries ). The research-based experience inspired her two textile Patch Books, an entirely new body of work for Arai. We are thrilled to share that Patch Book 1 has now been acquired for the permanent collection of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum Library. We are grateful to so many at Cooper Hewitt for championing Arai’s work, most especially: Jennifer Bracchi (
@jenlibrarian ), Alexandra Cunningham Cameron (
@alexcunninghamcameron ) and Alexandra Hodkowski (
@alexandra.hodkowski ).
