We had a brilliant time at @offfest last week in Barcelona. We came home feeling incredibly inspired by all the speakers and their fantastic work from across the globe. It really was an eye opening few days where we learnt a huge amount. From the workshops and talks from big-hitters, to the projection mapping in the evening, OFFF has really made us appreciate (even more) the creative world that we are a part of.

Mayfield Manchester is steeped with industrial history that spans back to the 1700s. This 24 acre district is being transformed into a multi use, world class urban neighbourhood, featuring the city centres first park. In our first Manchester Now video, Ben Shires explores Mayfield’s history going as far back as 1782, when Mayfield originally began as a Printworks. The station buildings and platforms still remain and will form a central part of the regeneration. This rebirth has already seen the creation of the park and the depot is alive with Escape to Freight Island and various other events, such as The Warehouse Project. Mayfield, by developer Landsec, is up and running as a brand new destination including what will be one of the most sustainable office buildings in Manchester - The Republic, providing a place of work for over 2,000 people, boosting the local economy by £100 million a year. Video produced by OBI’s Studio team.

This week, we opened the doors and welcomed Manchester City Councillors, senior agents, and project partners inside Rylands to experience the building mid-transformation. Not a finished show space, but the building as it truly stands today. Structure exposed, heritage being carefully restored, and the future of this landmark beginning to take shape! Seeing Rylands at this stage matters. It allows people to experience the scale of the reinvention and understand the ambition behind it. This is not a simple redevelopment – it’s the next chapter of a building that has played a defining role in Manchester’s story. The conversations throughout the tour were engaged, thoughtful and forward-looking. There is real momentum building around what Rylands is becoming, and true buy-in from the built environment community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and became part of the journey. We’re proud of the progress so far and excited to share the next milestones as this landmark continues to evolve. #RylandsManchester #Manchester #BuiltEnvironment #Heritage #CityCentre #Regeneration #SiteTour

What an incredible night celebrating 100 remarkable people who’ve helped shape Manchester into the vibrant, modern city we love. 💫 Huge congratulations to @lisam2301 on such a phenomenal achievement. It was an unforgettable event with an unbelievable guest list. Lisa, your hard work and dedication to this city never goes unnoticed. We’re also so proud of our very own Will Lewis, who was recognised after featuring on the We Built This City podcast a few years back. It was an honour to see him celebrated alongside so many inspiring Mancunians pushing our city forward. Here’s to the next 100! 🤩

What amenity do occupiers value the most? Workspaces are becoming more aligned to that of hotel hospitality models, in order to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Hear more about what this involves in our Trading Places episode one, link in bio.
