I still can’t find the words, sis.
I miss you more than I yet feel I’ve been able to communicate in words that do you justice.
But I have felt you here. In how friends and family have shown up for me. In the moments when my guard is down and you pop up at just the right time to lift my spirits.
But more than anything in the moments when other people have needed me and I have found strength to be as present for them as you somehow always managed to be.
You made us all feel like the world was full of possibilities we didn’t dare dream of.
Your grace and patience seemed boundless.
I hope those who know me will know you through my attempts to be more Dani; encouraging always, taking time and showing love.
But I’d be lying if I said the thought of not hearing that laugh again will not continue to be one of life’s tragedies.

Christmas can be such a funny ol time of year with pressure to reflect on the past 12 months and for some of us complicated family dynamics.
Whichever way you celebrate or don’t, may you be held in the knowledge that you are loved, seen and valued and may our connections over the year to come grow ever deeper. Community is needed now more than ever.
