A Metric Based on Insects is a song about a man lost in space. He searches for his home because he has concluded that he impairs the universe by not being where he should be: Earth. Impairing the universe in this way is unbearable to him because during his voyage he has fallen in love with the universe, and knows this love is unrequited. Harming the thing he loves most, he wishes for only one thing: self-abolishment. But death still maintains him as a foreign object in the body of his love, so even that is not an option. He searches, trying to solve a laughably impossible task. He suffers.

You can see how nervous I am, this was the technical rehearsal right before I performed at MONA. Going there and seeing 'Obdurate' scattered around on various posters etc was totally surreal.
Also ngl my semiquaver-triplets are totally smooth in this vid. Nice work Will.
