Our Sparkling Rosé 2018 has just been awarded 92 points at the @internationalwinechallenge - and if that wasn’t enough, it also received 94 points in @therealrvw , placing it in the top three vintage rosé sparkling wines being judged. We couldn’t be prouder.  The IWC judges described it as: “fresh red summer fruit, apple, brioche, complex and rich with a mature finish.” The Real Review said: “Intense and complex berry-fruit flavours delivered an energetic mousse, with smoky raspberry and cherry fruit underpinned by a firm spine of redcurrant acidity, finishing dry, fresh and with real ageing potential. Spring frost nights are critical in the vineyard. Clear skies and no wind mean the ground loses heat fast, and cold air settles around the vines. As temperatures drop below -2°C and reach the dew point, moisture freezes on the young buds—putting the new vintage at risk. At Oastbrook Estate Vineyard, we act fast. Barrels and controlled fires are lit across the rows to create warmth and movement, while infrared heaters help lift the temperature. We also lay out large tarpaulins to form a barrier, stopping cold air from flowing down the slope and pooling in the vineyard. Our Rosé Reserve is a wine that draws you in from the very first pour. Light peach skin and cherry in colour, it presents fragrant aromas of cherry, raspberry, ripe strawberries, peach skin and nectarine - followed through with a zingy mouthfeel of cranberry, lemon, grapefruit and ripe breadfruit. Well balanced, with an intensity of fruit and a wonderfully creamy texture. Liam Steevenson MW, IEWA Chair, said it best: “Lovely aromatics, with strawberries and redcurrant, very creamy on the palate and supremely well balanced. Lovely approachability and fruit, well integrated acidity, good fruit and nice balance between ease of drinking and complexity.
