You don’t know what it means to buy a lantern when darkness has already swallowed the road.
You didn’t think I would make it, did you?
You didn’t think I would leave the streets.
You didn’t think I would survive.
Yet here you are
standing in my office
asking me for favors.
After you left me.
After you left me and my child to freeze in the cold.
Can someone get me a bottle of wine, please??
And two glasses.
Because I’m about to celebrate the return of my brother…
the same brother who disappeared when things got hard.
