“Winged Purpose” For @pleasant.peninsula mural festival. This painting is important to my mission, the Kirtland’s Warbler that you see pictured here is an intrepid little fire dependent bird that was brought back from the brink of extinction. A conservation success story.
What it needs now is the re-introduction of FIRE to its ecosystems to maintain and create new habitat for it, and the other species around it. This has been eliminated due to human encroachment, my hope is that will change.

“Legends” The latest OakBloak/RUMTUM collaboration and our biggest ever. We labored on these peaks and bulls all of July in the scorching heat. It was a fitting setting for the piece. You can see this behemoth at the entrance of the Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, CO.

DEATH RIDES A TOOTHLESS CROCODILE THROUGH ETERNITY • I’ve always pictured death as more of a jovial character than we usually see portrayed, and what does that croc need teeth for anyway? He lost them long ago with the deaths of the first gods. (They struggled a lot you see) Now though, his prey comes to him without a fight, it’s all a waiting game for this pair. I wonder where I’ll be when it’s time for me to climb into those jaws…or if I’ll try to run instead. -Bloak

“Big Blue” - I am continuing my mission to return herds of painted buffalo to their ancestral lands. For this behemoth I tasked myself with communicating the reverence and power of the buffalo and to create a landmark of its endurance. I want to thank @littletonbrewco for supporting my artistic dream as well as the arts in such a substantial manner with an amazing canvas. Projects like this are only possible by finding like minded humans and growing your community.
I also want to thank @denvermountainparks for providing me with access and mentorship as I continue my “Heard” project. I want a home where the buffalo roam, and I feel that returning these painted buffalo to their indigenous home lands is a step in the right that direction. The herd is growing! • I’ll be painting Buffalo where ever I can across the west as a part of a new project called “Heard”. The goal is to return a herd of painted buffalo to the lands that they once inhabited. Denver leads multiple Bison Conservation initiatives and I hope these murals complement those noble efforts. Awareness is conservation and every bit of optimism counts.
