Happy Mother’s Day weekend ✨🧡
Starting and running three cafés has created a certain kind of toughness. Things going wrong, sometimes horribly, painfully wrong becomes a normal part of life. You learn that the faster you accept it and move forward, the better.
But that doesn’t mean I haven’t stumbled. A lot.
Sometimes I still feel like I’m not really an adult, with the weight of the world on my shoulders. In those moments, there is one person who is an absolute expert at hugging me and telling me that everything will be okay. Yes, my husband can do that too but it just hits differently when my mom catches me.
My mom lets me escape adulthood, if only for a few moments. But those moments are enough for me to get back to the surface and fight on.
Nobody knows me like she does. Nobody knows exactly what to say to make everything feel right again, or exactly when to step up and lend a helping hand.
Her story in Ø.12 is the untold story of being a hero all the way through.
Renovating our first café? No problem. My mom worked tirelessly cleaning windows, painting, and keeping things running.
Everyone calling in sick, while Kasper and I were almost drowning? No problem. She would step in, clear tables, and talk to guests.
Time and time again, she has been there when I needed her the most.
Today, she still helps just in a different way.
Along the way, we have become parents to two amazing girls, who have quickly learned to love and adore my mother just as much as I do.
She is once again the perfect balance. The one who helps everything run smoothly. The one who gives those who need it a big hug.

Ad | We visited @o12cph on their new location in central Copenhagen (Silkegade) - and it’s one of those places where you end up staying a little longer than planned.
We started with the Eggs Benedict on a crispy sweet potato “bubble & squeak cake” with 24h cured salmon… and honestly, this wasn’t your classic version. It felt a bit more interesting - and that crispy base just elevated everything.
The Morning Plate is perfect if you want a bit of everything (which we always do). Sesame sourdough bun, cheese, yoghurt, homemade jam, whipped butter and soft-boiled eggs - simple, but done well.
The pancake… soft, fluffy and topped with fresh berries, hazelnuts, maple syrup and vanilla cream. It disappeared way too fast 🫠
And the porridge was anything but boring - apple compote, hazelnut cream, seeds and caramel sauce. One of those dishes you order to feel “healthy”… but not entirely innocent
We had fresh orange juice, really good coffee and an iced matcha latte that actually tasted like matcha (you know what we mean).
Service was genuinely great - warm, attentive and just made the whole experience feel even nicer.
Overall: a spot that balances comfort and quality effortlessly, without trying too hard.
We’ll definitely be back.
