The legendary Oscar winner @jonbatiste brought the house down in a custom @umin.ltd suit painted by me! I am literally shook at how this vision came to life. This look was inspired by Fela Kuti’s iconic style and Jon embodied it effortlessly. I incorporated ancient nsibidi symbols into the work and am beyond honored to have been able create for such a true incredibly talented artist. He gives me so much hope for the future of creativity and music and I had so much fun with his whole team making pure magic.

We talked a bit about my process during the shoot and Mahala mentioned how cool it was that the design was created by painting.
I know that most graphics are created digitally but for me, painting has always been a faster way to get my ideas down. I’ve always been down with the analogue way of doing things.
It’s definitely a trip to see something that once existed on the tip of my paintbrush become a garment that will represent nigeria for years to come.
She saved the best for last. 💙
For the final Cowboy Carter show, Blue Ivy Carter wore a custom royal blue Eleven Sixteen look — a tribute to legacy, power, and the future of Black excellence and African Heritage.

When you go to Coachella and it’s a full on family reunion!! If seeing brother @bigbirdkuti and Egypt 80 front and center wasn’t enough @cocoandbreezy left me and everyone at BOTH of their stages in awe.
