The latest issue of NZ Performance Car is here! Gracing the cover is none other than Lincoln Whiddett and his turbocharged three-rotor S14, one of the latest machines to roll out of the MADLAB. Inside the pages, we get up close with Adam LZ’s four-rotor Supra as it lands on NZ shores for the very first time. We also head to the Kapiti Coast to check out Derek Haggerty’s immaculate Datsun 1200 Coupe, a build that’s nothing short of perfection. Also from the ’70s is Jason Steiner’s RX-2 street car. It’s show material, but still gets thrashed out on track. And rounding off the rotaries, we’ve got something a little bit different, Paul Ayres’ RX-3 ute, a vision from the early 2000s, now fully reborn. There's also a street-legal 180SX drift car, a forged 9-second Evo II road car, and NZ's first RS3-powered Golf R, built by the crew at Harrys Euro. Plus event coverage from Toyota GR Festival, Rotary REunion, D1NZ Puke, Chrome South Island, HPTO Fest and Kyusha Campout. There’s plenty more action from NZ’s car scene packed inside. Make sure to grab your copy from your local supermarket or bookstore today!

For decades kiwis have looked towards the JDM motherland for inspiration, trends and styling but little do we know the motherland is also keenly spying on us. Our love affair with the rotary is one that has made New Zealand one of the world’s finest rotary havens and Rotary REunion shows you exactly why! Words and photos: Aaron Mai (@aaron_mai_media ) Check out the full REunion coverage in the latest issue of NZPC, in stores now!

Not all trophy-snatching show cars are built with filling up the pool room in mind. Some are built to be driven, and crafted simply to the owners taste and skillset. When they turn up to one of the most storied classic car exhibitions on Kiwi shores, you can be certain it’s something special. This 1973 Datsun 1200 coupe is one such car - an accidental prize pony crafted with vision and good old fashioned grind. Words and photos: Richard Opie (@snoozinrichy ) Check out the full story behind Derek Haggerty's stunning 1200 coupe in the latest NZPC issue!

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival returns to Hampton Downs for its 13th instalment. A celebration of the world’s biggest car brand past and present, and a clear “thanks” to the loyalty of Kiwi Toyota fans, it’s a solid argument for why Toyota just might be the best car maker on the planet right now if you’re into more than just going from A to B. Words: Richard Opie (@snoozinrichy ) Photos: Richard Opie, Tayler Burke (@shotsbytayb ) Read the full article in the latest issue of NZ Performance Car or on our website : https://nzperformancecar.co.nz/toyota-gazoo-racing-festival-2026-the-full-experience/

The MADLAB has built some of the world's most iconic drift cars. But perhaps its most exciting project yet has nothing to do with crazy horsepower figures. It's the eighteen-year-old behind the wheel of this 20B turbo Rocket Bunny S14. It’s undeniable that ‘tuner’ car culture, as we know it, was influenced by what was happening on race circuits around the globe, especially during the 1990s. You think massive wheels, belly-scraping ride heights, skyscraping wings and five-figure RPM limits are something new? Mercedes-Benz and AMG went to war in the ’90s to prove none of it is just window dressing. Words and photos: Richard Opie (@snoozinrichy ) The full 190E Evo II DTM feature is waiting in the latest NZPC, on shelves now.
