Meet #NYUStern alumna Sarah Rubin (MBA ’18), whose career journey has taken her from retail, to entertainment and media, to tech. Scroll through her “Pick Six” to learn how her Stern experience supported her along the way.
“My career has always lived at the intersection of joy and innovation. My ‘office’ has shifted from media conferences of CES and Cannes Lions to entertainment tentpoles like the VMAs and the Today Show. Now, that journey continues across Google, where I work to create access to information and build products for everyone.
“This path was paved by my Stern relationships and the IQ/EQ ethos. By staying passionate, prepared, and people-focused, I’ve turned a deep-rooted network and supportive community into a career spanning the "business of fun" and rapid-growth tech.”

The 2026 World Cup got an early kick-off thanks to NYU Stern Undergraduate College ( @sternuc ) students. As part of the NYC Consulting Capstone course, a Stern UC student team helped create a marketing campaign to effectively drive FIFA World Cup 26 tourists to destinations throughout all boroughs of NYC to spur positive economic impact. The project was in partnership with the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and the 2026 Summer of Opportunity Coalition.
According to the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, “This collaboration brought fresh ideas, real research, and new energy to the opportunities coming to our city. We’re proud to support the next generation of business leaders and to see them investing in the success of our small business community.”
According to Stephanie Su (BS ’26), “We approached this by interviewing businesses in each borough, creating marketing assets for these businesses to use, designing and sending a marketing toolkit flyer to businesses, and researching multiple different data sources to gain an understanding of demographics in each borough as well as tourists coming for the event.”

The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) marks its 10-year anniversary this year, celebrating a decade of building the business case for sustainability.
Since 2016, CSB has helped define how organizations translate sustainability into measurable business performance, and is now focused on equipping leaders to navigate what comes next.
“CSB has become globally recognized for its rigorous research, thought leadership, practitioner tools, and training in how sustainability drives effective management strategy and financial performance across industries, enabling corporate leaders to improve their impact and performance,” said Tensie Whelan, Founder of NYU Stern CSB and Distinguished Professor of Practice Emerita at NYU Stern.
According to Amy Skoczlas Cole, Director of NYU Stern CSB and Clinical Professor, who joined CSB in January 2026 to carry forward its extraordinary legacy and guide its next phase of growth, “As the global landscape rapidly shifts, CSB will demonstrate how sustainability helps organizations identify emerging risks and opportunities early enough to shape strategic action. Along the way, we are preparing future business leaders with the skills to navigate an increasingly dynamic operating environment.”

On January 15, members of the @triumemba community, including alumni, faculty, and current students, gathered in New York City to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program and reflect on its impact since opening the doors in 2001.
Combining the strengths of its three partner schools, NYU Stern, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and HEC Paris, the program has been a pioneering force in educating executive leaders through a truly global lens and on a worldwide scale.
The experience was the first in a series of dedicated events taking place in each of the partner school cities over the course of the year, tied to the theme of “Thinking: Forward” – honoring the roots of TRIUM while pushing toward new questions, new solutions, and a future that demands bold leadership.

#NYUStern students didn’t just stay in NYC this past fall — they made countries like France, Sweden and Kenya their classrooms! These learning experiences offered hands-on insights into global business. Some partnered with international academic institutions, while others learned directly from Stern faculty — but all of the students got a firsthand look at how business is done around the world.
Here’s a glimpse of their journeys:
🌍NYU Stern Full-time MBA (@nyusternies ) and NYU Stern Part-time MBA students traveled to Paris, France for a Stern Solutions experiential learning project led by Professor Thomaï Serdari and in partnership with Institut Français de la Mode, the Diversity in Beauty Chair, and the MANE fragrance house, to explore how brands can expand the consumer segments they cater to.
🌍A “Doing Business in…” course in Copenhagen, Denmark for NYU Stern Part-time MBA students explored the city’s sustainability efforts.
🌍 @nyusternemba ’s Global Immersion Experience in Stockholm, Sweden led by Professor Brian Hanssen explored how the country fosters innovation, from its thriving startup ecosystem to its leadership in the circular economy.
🌍 @triumemba ’s first-ever module in Africa took place in Nairobi, Kenya, where students explored the fast-changing business landscape, looking at how innovation, technology and sustainability are developing across the region.
The Stern School of Business at NYU Abu Dhabi @sternnyuad graduated more than 50 students from 25 countries in its first-ever Convocation ceremony on the main stage of Abu Dhabi Finance Week. Held during one of the region’s premier financial events, the Convocation honored the first cohort of graduates from the one-year, full-time MBA program. Congrats to the Class of 2025 and welcome to the @nyusternalumni community!
Since Fall 2021, first-year @sternuc Anand Khubani Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship (BTE) students have started their Stern journey with the Design Sprint, where they work with NYC founders, interview customers, gather insights, and pitch bold solutions after just 10 weeks in their Program.
For many, the Design Sprint, led by Professor Ashish Bhatia, becomes more than a project, it’s a reminder of why they’re drawn to entrepreneurship in the first place. Khubani BTE student Riya Goenka (BS ’29) shares:
“The process of ideating, testing, failing, and iterating reminded me why I love entrepreneurship. It’s not about having all the answers but about asking the right questions, embracing uncertainty, and creating something meaningful from scratch. This sprint reignited that spark in me.”
Take a look back at the BTE Design Sprint over the years in these photos and learn more about the Khubani BTE Program at the link in our bio.
