Silver-footed Thetis (Though there are no feet in this form :/) I wanted to depict Thetis as a shape-shifter, so I decided to draw her as such - with a lion’s head, an bird’s wings, a fish’s tail, reptilian skin on her hands, and a sting-ray's barb, to show her in her transformative state. Thetis (Θέτις) was a Nereid (daughter of the sea-god Nereus) and mother of the hero Achilles. She was prophesied to bear a son that would be greater than his father, so Zeus and Poseidon wanted to marry her off to the portal king Peleus, which she refused. Peleus was then advised (by Proteus, another sea-god) to find her as she slept and bind her tightly, not letting go even when she shape-shifted. She became flame, water, a lion and a serpent, until finally giving in. I find this tale pretty sad because she was basically forced to be with a man she did not want to be with, even with her many powers. “…….the nymph Thetis was wily, like her father, Proteus, the slippery old man of the sea, and she knew how to make her skin flow into a thousand different shapes of fur and feather and flesh. And though beaks and claws and teeth and coils and stinging tails would flay him, still Peleus must not let her go.” - The Song of Achilles, Madeline Miller Well, hope you liked my drawing of her! #thetis #achilles #peleus #greekmythology #illiad #theilliad #songofachilles #tsoa #nereid #nymph #seanymph #mythology #art #artist #women #lineart #metamorphosis

The Fates/Moirai (Μοῖραι) I was watching Blood of Zeus and these three came up, so I was feeling like drawing them myself in the classic Mother-Maiden-Crone iconography. Sketched them on a random portion of my notebook, though. I think it’s pretty clear who they are, but the one to the left is Clotho(Κλωθώ), a bit sly-looking (definitely inspired from the show) - the spinner. Middle one is Lachesis (Λάχεσις) - the allotter, tried to make her as “motherly” looking as possible, yet still stern. Lastly to the right is Atropos (Aτροπος) - the cutter of threads. Half of her face is a skull, representing death, which she bestows upon the one whose threads she cuts. Hope you liked the sketch! #thefates #fates #moirai #atropos #lachesis #clothos #greekmythology #art #lineart

My Nyx design! She's finally done omg, she's been in my scraps for so long, partly there. I don't even remember how long ago I had drawn her first sketch, and I had her idea for longer. So, part of her face is like a void containing the night sky or something, cuz she 𝗶𝘀 the night? So maybe the human form is just a mask? Idk. And I wasn't sure about the star-like jewelry which were, obviously, supposed to represent stars, but could come off as giant, ethereal dandruff 😭😭😭. Do you think she looks better with or without them? And omg about the bent ellipsed jewel on her head, it was bent because I had the bright idea of making it a galaxy? You can ever so slightly see it. And she has buggy black eyes just because. Nyx is one of the oldest entities in Greek mythology, birthed from Chaos and is the personification of the night sky. She is said to be feared by Zeus himself. She is the mama of a bunch of "abstract" concepts and primordial gods, such as Death (Thanatos (non-violent death) and the Keres (violent death), Sleep (Hypnos), the Fates (Moirai), Doom (Moros), Retribution (Nemesis), Discord (Eris) and many others. Some of them she produced without a father, and some she had with her consort, Erebus, the personification of darkness, another primordial entity birthed from Chaos. I don't know if she looks "Greek", though 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Hope you liked my design! Swipe for the bust drawings and other sketches! #nyx #greekmythology #greekmythologyart

Ummmmmm this was supposed to be a story but I didn’t get the phone very much, so I had to do it across Ibis Paint on the laptop and MS Paint. So, anyways, here’s a sketch of a bust of Venus, with the plants that bear her name. This is based on a series of ideas I’ve had for a long time but I don’t have the skills yet to do em so rough sketches you get 😭😭😭😭 #venus #venusgoddess #romanmythology #sculpture #plants

Piscine Mammals 🌊✨ (I can’t say Piscine without thinking of Piscine Patel) I’ve been doodling hippocampi a lot recently T~T (probably after @karuchillz ‘s post). I wasn’t sure what color to give the ✨majestic✨ seahorsie, so it’s gonna be a statue for now? T~T And goat is goat. I hate goats :( I only like the when they’re babies. They’re scary. This is gonna be my last post for now 😭 My board exams start in June, and I really gotta lock in cuz I’ve been really sloppy with my studies for the last 2 years, and I don’t want to end up in a tragedy. Gonna miss you allll (Jk, I’m still gonna be on insta, just a lot less…..HOPEFULLY. I’m addicted to the internet but I’ll try my best) Byeeeeee For now :) #hippocampus #seagoat #chimera #greekmythologyart #fantasyart

My late entry to @the.angel.incarnate 's DTIYS #INCARNATE70K!!! Congratulations to @the.angel.incarnate on 70k (72.3k now)!!!!!! They are an exceptional artist and truly deserve this!!!! They were also one of the first Greek mythology artists I found on instagram, and needless to say, I was in awe of their work (especially as a horrorbug from childhood). "The Hounds of Achilles" has also been a great inspiration for me ♥️🌿 I had the idea for this entry since the first day I saw thr announcement, but didn’t get to it until the last minute and beyond T~T I wanted to incorporate the hounds themselves, surrounding Achilles, almost devouring him like a storm (though it ended up scarce of hounds in the final piece :/) It’s actually based on one of their pinned posts! Slide 1: The main entry Slide 2: Featuring a ghost Patroclus Slide 3: Lineart Slide 4: The original DTIYS reference Slide 5-7: Variations of the main entry, changing the eyes of the hounds Slides 8-11: Sketches (including Gigachadchilles XD) Slide 12: A warmer version of Slide 3 I also thought the song "Destined to Nothingness" would be pretty ironic to put along with Achilles. I really hope @the.angel.incarnate likes it!!!! And thanks to @clemroumish and @damonikos for helping me revise the proportions XD [It's already past the deadline in my time zone when I posted this. In my record, I have never submitted a DTIYS entry except on the last day or the day after (the ONE time I did was when I accidentally read the deadline to be a month earlier). And I was really upset because I thought I would have to skip this DTIYS cuz of my exams but I somehow made it T~T] #achilles #thehoundsofachilles #greekmythologyart #greekheroes

Hephaestus Doodle Dump I realized I forgot how to render T~T or at least lost the patience for it. Weird things been going around lately :(((( I'm not the proudest of the first two pieces but I don't hate them and it was fun drawing a character after such a long time. Hephaestus (or Hephaistos) was the Ancient Greek god of blacksmithing, metallurgy, carpenters, artisans, sculpture, fire and volcanoes (and others, possibly). He was the son of Hera (without a father, according to some versions) and Zeus. He was cast out of Olympus, in some versions due to being lame, by his own mother, and in some versions, by other ways. So, this Hephaestus design was in my drafts for a LONG time, and I wish I could have done it better. He has a half-mask covering the part of his face that was injured from the fall, and the metallic legpieces he is wearing are also for the purpose of helping him walk. The 4-7th slides are just a fun imagining of Hephaestus as a bird XD #hephaestus #greekmythology #greekmythologyart #ancientgreece

The Primordial Couple .✦ ݁˖ Nyx and Erebus .✦ ݁˖ The Night and Darkness I know it’s a lazy piece 🤦‍♀️ But I just got bombed with the fact that my exams are WAY closer than I thought they would be, and I might be what the kids call “cooked”. #nyx #erebus #greekmythology #greekmythologyart #ancientgreek

I was supposed to post this along with the main Ides of March post but I couldn’t edit it properly that way, and I still couldn’t……but this will do for now. If it’s cringey, I don’t have the time or energy to care 😤 Also, my first reel? (if you don’t count the art progress slideshow) BRUTUS. BRUTUS. BRUTUS.
