Introducing Florencia Vetcher, Assistant Professor and Chair of Interior Design at NYIT’s School of Architecture and Design. Educated at Princeton University and shaped by work with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Enric Miralles + Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT), and Eisenman Architects, her trajectory reflects a sustained engagement with some of the most influential design practices of the past decades.
Working across New York, Spain, Iceland, and Argentina, Vetcher’s practice moves fluidly between large-scale cultural commissions and more intimate, research-driven interventions through @vetcher_breidfjord
From the rehabilitation of a historic market in Barcelona and The Lincoln Center renovation to advancing new approaches to interior environments at New York Tech, her work situates design as both a critical and material practice—bridging disciplines, scales, and modes

We are so proud to have officially presented the best of our student work to the CIDA accreditation team! This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless effort of the entire Interior Design department faculty.
Special thanks to the visionary leadership of Dean Maria Perbellini, Associate Dean Anthony Caradonna, and our Chair Florencia Vetcher. Seeing EGGC 602 transformed into a showcase of innovation and design excellence is a moment we won’t forget. Now the room is still open to students and faculties. Feel free to drop by!

DSGN 301 Furniture Design students just wrapped up the first half of their “Mobile / Immobile” exploration. For this midterm, Immobile furnitures were presented to address architectural elements such as columns, wall, floor etc.
Students shift the perspective from standalone objects to permanent, site-specific installations and took a deep dive into complex joinery, material honesty, and human-centric ergonomics.
Watching these students bridge the gap between interior architecture and furniture craft has been incredible. The student works are currently on display at the EGGC Lobby Student Lounge. Stay tuned for the “Mobile” phase. Professor: Florencia Vercher Jury: @lyd.iamudd@neuni_lylawudesign@vetcher_breidfjord #midterm @nyit.architecture
The DSGN102 crew traded the Manhattan skyline for the rolling hills of Grace Farms this week. Designed by Pritzker Prize winners SANAA, this architectural masterpiece served as our living classroom for the day.
We spent our time observing how the “River” building seamlessly follows the landscape. We watched Bird and slowing down over tea. With @gracefarmsct Educator Patrice we have uncovered the intentionality and history behind every curve of the structure.
We are so excited to see our first-year Interior Design students translate this inspiration into their upcoming Bathhouse Concept right here amidst the serenity of Grace Farms. #interiordesign #nyitidesign Prof: @neuni_lylawudesign@johnbermu
