It’s Simple retaining clients—especially for your salon and brand—is less about doing more and more about doing the right things consistently. Here are 3 that actually move the needle:
1. Make them feel seen, not just serviced
People come back for how you make them feel. Remember details—how they like their part, their kids’ names, their last style, even their vibe that day.
Use a simple system (notes in your phone or booking app) so every appointment feels personalized. When a client feels like “that’s my stylist,” they don’t shop around. I always make a mental note of my clients pets names
2. Lock in the next appointment before they leave
This is one of the most powerful habits. Don’t just suggest it—guide it.
Instead of: “Let me know when you want to come back”
Say: “Based on your style, I want to see you in 3 weeks. Let’s book that now so you stay fresh.”
This turns one-time clients into repeat income automatically.
3. Stay in their life between appointments
Out of sight = out of mind.
Use:
* Text check-ins (“How’s your hair holding up?”)
* Social media (post their results, tag them, give tips)
* Exclusive offers for returning clients
You’re not just a stylist—you’re part of their routine and lifestyle. Comment tips for more!!!
