Some things change - for the better 🫂🌷🌱 ⭐️ Same Mission - Just Expanded, Evolved, & Reimagined: The New York City Trans & Queer Coalition (NYCTQC), is a citywide coalition of trans-led and LGBTQIA-missioned organizations advocating for safety, housing, healthcare, education, and dignity for all LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers. ⭐️ Since 2025 we won a historic campaign, securing $13.725M in new funding in NYC for TGNCNB led and serving organizations, including the nation’s first gender affirming care for youth fund. NYCTQC worked with the City Council to pass the Trans Futures Package, adding stronger protections for TGNCNB New Yorkers. ⭐️ This year NYCTQC are continuing the momentum of last year’s wins and advocating for NYC to increase funds for the following initiatives: Trans Equity Initiative to $10M, Gender Affirming Care for Youth to $15M, Persons Involved in the Sex Trade to $15M and create a new fund for LGBTQIA+ Immigrant Legal Services. You can read the full 2026 platform on our website, linked in bio. 📧 Email us at [email protected] for more information.

“This funding is the first time we’ve seen funding of this size specifically for transgender and gender non-conforming people in the New York City budget. The funding is historic , and due to a historic effort from the NYC Trans and Queer Provider Advocacy Coalition and the LGBTQIA+ Caucus.” @tiffany_caban

Yesterday, we were at City Hall as members of the @nyctransqueercoalition to demand that the city make a real investment in TGNCNBI New Yorkers. This funding is desperately needed to meet the needs of queer, immigrant, sex worker, undocumented, BIPOC, and other low-income communities who have been overlooked and underfunded for far too long. We all deserve access to housing, healthcare, legal services and safety, and the city has the budget to make this a reality! Our Executive Director Diana Adams was there and had this to say: “I’ve been an attorney serving LGBTQIA+ people in New York City for over 20 years. We’ve always been understaffed in providing free services to low-income queer and trans people, but I’ve seen this issue become an emergency in the last year. As queer and transgender people move from other states to New York City, we need additional funding urgently to provide them with the safety and welcome they deserve in our great city.” Chosen Family Law Center is so proud to be one of the dozens of organizations that make up the NYC Trans and Queer Coalition. We know that New York City can do more to take care of its most vulnerable trans and queer residents, and we won’t stop fighting for the safety and dignity we all deserve.

Yesterday, NYCTQC rallied on behalf of all TGNCNB New Yorkers, fighting for the very necessary funding needed to support Trans, Queer, Immigrant, Black, Brown, and low-income communities here in the city. We want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of our community partners & city officials for their presence and support! TGNCNB and Queer New Yorkers deserve housing, healthcare, legal services, safety, & economic stability and this city has the funding to make that a reality. Our ask was and *is* simple: 💰 $10M for the Trans Equity Initiative 🏛️ $4M Investment from the Mayor to support TGNCNB communities 💜 $15M for Gender-Affirming Care for Youth ⚖️ $15M for People Involved in the Sex Trade Fund 📢 $15M annually for a new LGBTQIA+ Immigrant Legal Services Fund We’ve done it before and we will do it again. This year, the city has the opportunity to protect LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers with tangible resources. A $38.5M investment is critical to close the very real gaps in services that serve our LGBTQIA+ communities.

New York, our communities deserve more than survival. ✊🏽🏳️‍⚧️🔥 For too long, trans, queer, immigrant, Black, Brown, and low-income communities have been expected to survive without meaningful investment. We are done settling for symbolic support while our communities face barriers to housing, healthcare, legal services, safety, and economic stability. We are building power, and we are making our demands clear. We need a $38.5M investment added to the NYC budget across five critical funding priorities to close gaps in care, housing, legal support, and community infrastructure for LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers. Because our communities should not have to choose between surviving and thriving. These are our demands: 💰 $10M for the Trans Equity Initiative 🏛️ $4M Investment from the Mayor to support TGNCNB communities 💜 $15M for Gender-Affirming Care for Youth ⚖️ $15M for People Involved in the Sex Trade Fund 📢 $15M annually for a new LGBTQIA+ Immigrant Legal Services Fund These are not luxuries they are lifelines. We are done fighting for scraps. New York must invest in the people who make this city vibrant, resilient, and alive. We deserve budgets that reflect our humanity, our resilience, and our right to thrive. Show up. Speak out. Fight for our communities. ✊🏽🏳️‍⚧️💜 Join us as we rally to demand real investment in TGNCNB New Yorkers because our communities deserve more than visibility, we deserve resources, care, and protection. NYCTQC is excited to welcome the new Director of LGBTQIA+ Affairs and to have witnessed the history making moment when @taymer333 officially became the first out Trans Woman to lead an office in NYC government. This is not just symbolic, she has a tremendous track record as an attorney , most recently at the NY Attorney Generals Office, litigating and protecting TGNCNB rights. The NYC Trans and Queer Coalition looks forward to working with her to ensure all Trans and LGBQIA NYs can live a celebrated and dignified life.

🚨 We are outraged. The U.S. House just passed H.R. 3492, criminalizing gender-affirming care (GAC) for minors. This attack endangers TGNCNB youth, families, and the providers sworn to protect them. Gender-affirming care is life-saving healthcare evidence-based, ethical, and grounded in dignity and respect. This bill distorts reality and threatens professionals who uphold the well-being of TGNC youth. In NYC, we’re fighting back: this year we secured $3.5M for the nation’s first GAC Fund, and we will continue to defend our community. We call on leadership to protect, cherish, and invest in TGNCNB children and families. Providing and receiving GAC is lawful, life-saving, and non-negotiable. We will not back down. 🏳️‍⚧️ #TransRightsAreHumanRights #GenderAffirmingCare #ProtectTGNCYouth

A message to leadership, the youth, resources and how to take action. NYCTQPAC is appalled and outraged at NYC Mayor Adams’s response to rethink DOE protections for Transgender and Gender Expansive students.

History was made on the steps of City Hall! 🌟 On Thursday, August 14th, NEW Pride Agenda proudly joined the New York City Council LGBTQ Caucus, Speaker Adams, and community partners for a press rally celebrating a groundbreaking win: $13.725 million — the largest municipal investment in the nation for transgender people. 🏳️‍⚧️💜 This moment marks not only a historic commitment of resources, but also the introduction and passage of two critical bills ensuring that TGNC New Yorkers can receive affirming healthcare at all public hospitals citywide. We are honored to stand with our community and leaders who made this possible. Together, we are shaping a future where trans and gender nonconforming people are protected, respected, and celebrated. ✨ Credit: Emil Cohen/NYC Council Media Unit —— #NEWPrideAgenda #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TGNCJustice #NYC #CityHall #HistoricWin
