“Liberation of the Soul” by Nychos at the Mural Harbor Gallery in Linz! Earlier this year, an incredible journey took place as NYCHOS returned to his homeland, Austria, to create his largest and most detailed mural yet. This wasn’t just any mural—it was a deeply personal project titled “The Liberation of the Soul.”
In February, NYCHOS took time off to fully immerse in meditation and sketching, crafting a concept and composition intended to grow into something monumental. The inspiration came from his first journey to Mexico City, where he encountered Jorge Gonzalez Camarena’s powerful mural. Overwhelmed by its energy, he was moved to tears, realizing later that Camarena had painted his own liberation of the soul. That moment planted a seed. NYCHOS knew he had to step into the final act of his own intense spiritual awakening.
Leaving Los Angeles, he headed to Linz, Upper Austria, to collaborate with
@mural_harbor and take on an 80m (262ft) long and 13m (43ft) high wall. While the size was impressive, the vision was even greater—a full story packed with intricate details. Freeing himself of other obligations, he poured all his energy into this transformative project. Despite weather challenges and lift issues, his dedication never wavered.
After two and a half months in Linz (or 65 intense working days), the mural was completed, crowned by a breathtaking image of the Phoenix rising from its ashes. This project was not just about the mural but also about internal shifts and growth. #Liberation #Soul #nychos #muralharbor foto:
