🌎🏆 NYC TEAMS ON THE WORLD STAGE 🏆🌎
From alliance captains and playoff runs to prestigious judged awards, NYC teams made an incredible impact at the 2026 @first_official_ Championship in Houston.
This season, teams from across Manhattan and Queens represented New York City with excellence in engineering, leadership, outreach, innovation, and sustainability — proving that NYC students can compete at the highest level on the international stage. ⚙️🚀
Collectively, these accomplishments reflect the continued growth of NYC FIRST programs and the strength of the city’s robotics community. Beyond technical achievement, these teams demonstrated the power of mentorship, collaboration, creativity, and community impact throughout the Championship event.

Students from the Washington Heights NYC FIRST STEM Center credit-bearing class @nypl recently visited @weact4ej to learn about the Green Healthy Schools initiative and explore how engineering and STEM can help create healthier school communities. 🏫🌱
During the visit, students discussed real challenges facing school buildings across NYC and wrote letters to the mayor proposing improvements they believe would make schools safer, healthier, and more sustainable for students citywide.
From robotics and engineering to civic engagement, these students are using their voices and skills to help shape a better future for their communities. 💡🗽

This week, we’re celebrating the people behind the progress.
To the educators, mentors, and schools supporting NYC FIRST teams and students across the city - THANK YOU. You’re the ones creating opportunities, guiding, solving problems, and showing up again and again for your students.
You’re not just teaching robotics. You’re building real-world, collaborative problem-solving skills that last far beyond the season. NYC FIRST wouldn’t exist without you and neither would the hundreds of students you impact every year.

Spring break well spent 💡🤖
During spring break, NYC FIRST partnered with STEM Matters NYC to bring hands-on robotics and digital fabrication programming to students at the NYC FIRST STEM Centers.
Students spent the week building and programming robots, testing sensors and attachments, and working through engineering challenges as teams. They explored coding strategies, experimented with laser cutting and 3D design, and even launched bottle rockets while learning about chemical reactions. By the end of the week, they were presenting their projects and sharing what they created with confidence.
Huge thank you to the educators, mentors, and staff who guided students every step of the way. Your support made this experience possible 💙
And shoutout to the students for their creativity, teamwork, and curisosity all week long! #nycfirst #robotics #first
Robotics and the environment coming together 🌱🤖
During the second semester of our high school credit-bearing class, students at the NYC FIRST STEM Center in Washington Heights at @nypl are putting their engineering and teamwork skills into action for Earth Day. Using what they’ve learned in robotics, they’re tackling real-world environmental challenges and thinking critically about the future of our planet.
From building air quality monitors and Arduino-based fire extinguisher systems to exploring renewable energy through solar-powered city grids, students are applying their skills in meaningful, real-world ways.
From problem-solving to innovation, this is what it looks like when STEM learning turns into impact. The next generation isn’t just learning - they’re building solutions. 🌍 🌍 🌍
At NYC FIRST, we’re proud to partner with @conedison to deliver climate resilience solutions to communities across NYC.
