Welcome home, Marius Mason! I was in prison about a year when Marius was arrested. It is hard to imagine that he has been in so long but I am glad he is not going to wake up in a cell anymore. Marius walked out of prison today and is en route to a halfway house. They will be there for one year and then will be free. The uplifting news is that after more than 17 years behind bars, Marius Mason will be released from federal prison in May 2026! That timeline brings post-prison support issues to the fore. As Marius re-enters life on the outside, we are organizing support and raising funds so this transition can proceed with dignity, care and solid footing. Marius was stolen from his community nearly 20 years ago. That’s 20 years of the world changing, politically, technologically and in other ways. Let’s make it easier for him. That is why we are asking for donations of gift cards, in any amount. All cards will be given directly to Marius upon release for his own use. A system has been set up for purchase of gift cards, like "Vanilla Gift" that can be purchased, using contact info: Moira Meltzer-Cohen, Attorney at Law, 277 Broadway Suite 1501 NY, NY 10007. For phone # needed with the address, use (212) 219-1919. In addition, there will be a trust account to receive direct donations through the donations page on supportmariusmason.org. An environmental and animal rights activist, anarchist, writer, artist and trans advocate, Marius was sentenced to nearly 22 years for property damage carried out in defense of the planet in 2009, acts in which no injuries resulted. Nonetheless, his sentence was increased with terrorism enhancement, making it the longest sentence meted out for an act of environmental sabotage. Now it is our turn to provide support as he comes back home and establishes his footing with employment, housing and community.

Nonetheless, his sentence was increased with terrorism enhancement, making it the longest sentence meted out for an act of environmental sabotage. We who love and support him are working to provide solid mutual support, along with room for choices while helping with basic needs. Marius accomplished a lot while in prison—producing artwork, poetry, book reviews, and other writing for publication. He has taken college courses through several universities, became certified as a Paralegal, studied to be a writing tutor and studied immigration law. He engaged in mentoring while in prison, and counseled other prisoners. Now it is our turn to provide support as he comes back home and establishes his footing with employment, housing and community. (repost) To commemorate Palestinian Prisoners’ Day — April 17, 2026 — we are sharing Lines in the Sand: Writings on the Gaza Solidarity Encampment & Campus Flood at U.C. Berkeley from an Anarchist Prisoner of War, a collection of writing Casey Goonan produced while imprisoned at Santa Rita Jail awaiting trial for actions carried out in solidarity with the Palestinian people enduring and resisting genocide in Gaza. As a comrade in many movements—from street uprisings for Black liberation, mass prisoner struggles, and anti-imperialist solidarity in the belly of the beast—Casey’s works (whether in their own name as a guerrilla intellectual or anonymously in uncountable movement contributions) have never been bound by barbed-wire barriers or ephemeral abstractions, always seeking to help us to determine what’s possible here and now, especially through their immense efforts in the zine-to-prisoner distro True Leap Press. Casey’s intellectual curiosity is limitless, and, while what’s collected here is far from the entirety of what Casey wrote while at Santa Rita, these are the interventions that Casey drafted, edited, edited again, and sent outside to us in a stack of manila envelopes for us to share widely with those who need them. Writing is a task that never ceases for Casey—they are always reading, reflecting, and sitting down with a pen in hand to poetically untangle not just their context of captivity but the wider stakes of global anti-imperialist struggle. Donate at supportmariusmason.org/support/ Greetings, Friends and Family, It feels like this will actually happen at this point — so I finally think it's time to reach out and say thank to all of you who have been steadfastly in my corner, backing me up and helping me stay centered all of these 17 years incarcerated in the FBOP. I will be leaving prison in May and returning to my home state of Michigan, back to Detroit. This time would not have been the same without you all — and I have met so many people who had no one to turn to while they did their time, so I know what a difference it made to always have my people holding me up. And there has been a lot to get through, what with advocating for my transition, at each step — I knew that I had legal advice, medical information and material support. Thank you so much, I owe you all more than I can ever repay. I have tried for my own part to be a support and comfort to the people around me in each place the BOP put me, passing on the love I have been shown. What I really want you all to know is how incredibly proud it made me to be part of a community of resistance that stood together. It impressed the people I met in prison for so much love and solidarity to be expressed so powerfully for someone who was behind the walls. It demonstrated that in our movement, though we were physically separated, we could stay together in spirit, that solidarity and love are action words, and that we are all in it for the long haul. Change does not come easy, but solidarity is when we flex our strength as a people. I don't really know what comes next, but I hope I can still serve my community in some way to help. I have been studying to be a writing tutor through my Yale Prison Education Initiative scholarship — and hope to volunteer at the Literacy Project in Detroit. I have earned a Paralegal Degree and studied immigration law, and hope to be of service in that capacity, also. So much to do, but many hands make the work easy! Thank you, thank you, a million times over — thank you! As Elton John used to sing — I'm Still Standin' (yeah, yeah, yeah). See you on the outside! Love + Solidarity, Marius

DOC is actively disappearing Malik Muhammad In the wake of a call-in campaign to get Malik out of solitary confinement (once again), something even more alarming happened. On Monday March 30th, 2026, a member of Malik’s support team realized they disappeared from the prison messaging app GettingOut. Similarly the inmate search database for the state of Oregon showed no record of them. Family and friends have been frantically calling Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) and various contact numbers for Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC). State representatives were very reluctant to provide any information, though one in the Office of Population Management stated that Malik was moved to a “confidential location” but refused to specify where or for what reason. Prisoners do not simply disappear from state records; they do not disappear from a state prison with no documentation about a transfer or their current whereabouts. As of this moment, after dozens and dozens of phone calls, we have no idea where Malik is located. We have not been able to speak with them since they entered solitary confinement. Nobody at the federal level with the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has acknowledged they now have custody of Malik. They are just gone and nobody is saying a word. We have plenty of experience with the long stretches where Malik has been cut off from loves ones, refused any communications while enduring the torture that is extensive time in the hole. We are aware of the power and cruelty exercised by the state on a regular basis. But this is entirely different; we are scared. We know nothing about Malik’s condition, location, current circumstances, or how / why ODOC has taken the extraordinary steps to block all access and information about our beloved friend. We demand answers from, and consequences for, the individuals responsible. /post/2026/04/02/oregon-doc-is-actively-disappearing-malik-muhammad/

On Thursday, March 5th, Join NYC ABC for a letter-writing & solidarity event for the imprisoned Prairieland (Texas) defendants. Prairieland is a political repression case stemming from a noise demonstration in solidarity with ICE detainees that took place on July 4, 2025, outside the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. The current defendants are charged as an alleged “Antifa Cell,” including the transport “antifa materials”—a box of commonly available anarchist zines. The defendants face decades or even life behind bars, and in the case of green card holder Daniel “Des” Sanchez Estrada, also deportation. They are currently being held in a disgusting county jail while awaiting trial, scheduled to begin on February 23rd. Beyond destroying these defendants’ lives, this case could have wide-ranging impacts: making it an act of “domestic terrorism” to resist fascism, whether with organizing, solidarity, or words. For more details, see: prairielanddefendants.com | @dfwsupportcommittee | freedes.net | @free.des.revol We encourage people to wear an N95/KN95 mask * Letter-writing supplies, vegan snacks, and info will be provided

When I began to take an interest in political and social drawing, the American underground drawing movement was one of my great passions. Those direct, radical images — often rough yet incredibly powerful — shaped me. In that way of creating, there was an absolute freedom, an ethical and visual tension that has always inspired and deeply engaged me. For this reason, it is an immense pleasure for me to have created the portraits for the NYC Anarchist Black Cross @nycabc guide. It feels like closing a circle: entering into dialogue, through my work, with a tradition that has taught me so much. (Link in stories)

Political prisoner Alexander Stokes has been moved to a new prison- another maximum security prison and an infamous one: Sing Sing prison. His birthday is coming up on February 26th and transfers are always rough so shoot him a letter or card if you can. Alex Contompasis #22B5028
 Sing Sing Correctional Facility
354 Hunter Street
Ossining, NY 10562 Alex received a 20 year sentence and is not eligible for parole until 2039. You can donate to his support fund at freealexstokes.com/donate Background:
Alex Stokes Contompasis is a journalist and artist from Albany, NY. Alex’s work documenting social unrest began in 2014. He was arrested in 2017 in Washington DC during the J20 inaugural protests and co-represented over 200 counter-protestors and independent journalists that were rounded up and falsely charged. He was in Charlottesville, VA during the summer protests in 2017. He routinely attended and recorded Black Lives Matter protests in Albany in 2020. He also regularly revealed local white supremacist groups and members. On January 6, 2021, protestors gathered outside the New York State Capitol in Albany, NY in support of the Stop the Steal rally in Washington DC. A handful of counter protesters spoke out against them and a melee broke out after a Proud Boy tased a Black man in the neck. Alex was watching from the sidelines and ran to help others. Police did not intervene until the violence had ended and ultimately arrested three Black activists. Alex was charged with several violent felonies. The Proud Boys that engaged in the violence were not arrested at the scene. Alex’s family and friends maintain that he was railroaded by the system. He was a journalist under a court-ordered gag-order for over a year. His previous work and experience with dangerous hate groups were inadmissible for his defense, but the prosecution picked apart his social media accounts and portrayed his actions as premeditated. He was found guilty on all charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison, despite the fact that no one died and neither of the victims received life-altering injuries. One even began a job as an EMT just 6 weeks later.
