Over five unforgettable days, the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival presented by @puyalluptribeofindians was a true celebration in Seattle. This year’s Spring Parade felt like the season’s first true exhale. A reminder that warmer days are ahead, longer days are coming, and gardening brings more than beauty - it brings hope, creativity, connection, and so much JOY. ☀️

Throughout the Festival, the @puyalluptribeofindians shared experiences that highlighted ancestral knowledge, living culture, and a deep, ongoing relationship with the land, offering visitors a meaningful perspective that extended well beyond the garden gates.
From a vibrant cultural garden rooted in native plants, Lushootseed language, and the Five Cedar Teachings… to the historic Tribal medallion that inspired artwork by Tribal member and artist Daniel Baptista… to an early look at the region’s first “selfless station” created in partnership with @fwc26seattle , each experience reflected living culture, stewardship, and enduring connection to this land.

This stunning garden at the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival, designed by @hg_organics blends meadow-like sedges and moss “living mulch” outdoors with a lush glass house filled with cascading fuchsias, ponds, and Japanese rice fish. 🌿✨
Their top tips: build structure with sedges, try a small water feature, and consider a greenhouse as your winter plant sanctuary.
