1. Catedral de Maputo ⛪️: This modern cathedral is located right in Independence Square and dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (The Cathedral didn’t make it into the video, but I’ll post some pictures).
2. Praça da Independência 🇲🇿: Independence Square is the heart of the city of Maputo and a memorial to the national heroes of Mozambique. At the center of the Square is a large statue of Samora Machel, the first president of independent Mozambique.
3. Jardim Botânico de Tunduru 🌴: Take some time to enjoy the cool shade in this beautiful park and botanical garden in the city center.
4. Fortaleza de Maputo 🏰: Now a museum, this fortress was built in 1721 and is one of the primary historical monuments of the city.
5. Estação do Caminho de Ferro 🚉 : This early 20th century railway station is one of the most emblematic structures in Maputo. It is also a working train station, bustling with activity throughout the day.
6. Mercado Central de Maputo 🥭: The central market in the city center offers an array of wares—from fruits and veggies, meat, fish and spices, to housewares, beauty products and more.
