On July 4, 2026, our nation will observe the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To commemorate this event the Nevada State Museum, Carson City is offering its contribution to the America 250 celebration with its the new exhibit “Riveting America Bringing Together Fabrication, Fashion, and People.” This display will honor the efforts of, and products made by, working men and women. All displayed items relate to Nevada. These include clothing and pipe held together with rivets, the minerals used to make rivets, and ranching-themed baskets depicting buckaroos. One patriotic piece on display is the large image of an American Eagle. This artwork once graced the walls of our ionic Carson City Federal Mint and was painted in 1878 by Mint employee A. F. Bryant. Please consider visiting our exhibit to celebrate this milestone in the history of the United States of America.
