Mirinae: The River of Life
"Mirinae" is an archaic Korean word for the Milky Way.
It originates from the combination of "Miru," meaning dragon, and "Nae," meaning a flowing stream.
This work is crafted through the art of Origami.
In Japanese tradition, Origami is more than just folding paper; it is an act of creation from a single sheet and a form of silent prayer.
As the paper layers meet, the heart, too, finds a quiet unity.
Inspired by the Bukhan River, the setting of this exhibition, I envisioned the presence of a dragon—a symbol of collective life flowing from the eternal past into the present.
Everything that lives now, and everything that has passed, exists within this single, continuous flow.
Just as stars weave together to form the Milky Way, countless lives overlap to shape a grand current.
Mirinae—it is the eternal river of life.
