Before Number Project was an official company we were still creating experiences. To this day one of our favorites was well over a decade ago. We designed an event to bring together the nations top business leaders, artists, and LGBTQ non-profit executives to brainstorm ways we could use our collective skills to help legalize gay marriage. We had a full day of work, released a custom shoe to raise money with Bucketfeet, had a post event dinner with a celebrity chef, and ended the night with a private performance by the band FUN. It raised over 150k and made a huge impact. These are moments that make all the hard work worth it. ❤️
Prior to The Living Room show we did a small dress rehearsal inside the Cook County Jail. We’ve done shows inside the Jail/Prison for nearly 8 years and it’s by far the most meaningful work we get to do each year.
We often get people who make comments about how they don’t feel people in prison deserve this type of concert. Those people are missing the entire point of music and the comfort and inspiration it provides for all humans.
We all deserve to feel alive, redeem our mistakes, and dance.
Thanks to all the artists who performed and make so many smile.
