I first met @nuhtush in Vegas, then again in Tokyo, and Tokyo, most recently we caught up in London. She worked at @@christiesinc@christiesasia which I think is the coolest.
Interview continued in comments.
1. What’s your name and where are you from?
Hey I’m Tushy 🍑, and I’m from Hong Kong!
2. You’ve moved since I last saw you. Whats it been like relocating across an ocean? Do you think everyone should live abroad at some point?
Yessss last time we saw each other I was in Tokyo for the derby scrimmage, travelling within Asia was so easy then… I am a huge supporter that given the choice and the means, everybody should give living abroad a go!
This time, moving away as an adult, I miss rice much more than I did the first time round. In all seriousness, it’s been much harder relocating “for no reason”; not an easy reason such as school or a job. I just knew it was time, and I had been waiting a few years for the right time to move.
Changing your context can give you a deeper understanding of your wider place in the world, not just your locale where you could be blind to who you are. By moving around, you get to see more suddenly, or clearly, the shadow that you cast behind you. And it’s totally possible to change your context without crossing national borders.
About relocating here, it’s been a fun social transition because quad skate anywhere in the world automatically grants you access to the coolest people you’ll meet wherever you go. :)
