I never shared them before, but they’ve always been part of how I see.
I noticed these landscapes also come from the same place as my architecture work: getting close to the subject, looking for intimacy and detail, even in open space.

Saudade I – Lisboa
“Saudade” is a feeling without translation. A quiet ache, a longing not for something lost, but for something that was never fully yours. This series began during a slow journey through Portugal — from the southern coast to the northern hills — but I chose to start here, in Lisbon. Not just because of the architecture, but because this city holds a personal memory. I first visited Lisbon around twenty years ago, when I was ten. I still remember the light, the curves of the streets, the sense of something new. Coming back now, with a camera in hand, felt like reconnecting with a version of myself — more observant, more still.
The Pavilhão de Portugal, designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira, became the opening image of this series for a reason: its calmness, its sense of suspended time, and the way it holds space — not just physically, but emotionally. This is the beginning of Saudade — a personal exploration through light, silence, and the architecture of memory.
