On this day in 1993, Prior Park Landscape Garden was acquired by the National Trust. What followed was major clearance and restoration.
Then three years later, in summer 1996, it was ready to welcome its first visitors. To celebrate its opening to visitors, on Saturday 18 July Prior Park will be opening its gates late for an evening of celebration.
Details about the event and booking on the website.

It will soon be that time of year again for bonnets, top hats and parasols.
Tickets are now on sale for the Jane Austen events at Prior Park. The Jane Austen Festival will be taking place in Bath 11-20 September.
Those in Regency dress will receive 15% off entry at Prior Park during that period. We also have two special bookable events in store, an evening Regency feast (13 September) and a morning watercolours session (16 September).

Yes, it is set to be a wet weekend. Sometimes we forget to look around when it’s raining, especially if hiding under umbrellas or hoods.
If walking the Bath Skyline this weekend, here is a reminder of what is out there.

The sun is shining. It’s a good thing the new awning has been installed outside the Tea Cabin at Prior Park.
There is also outdoor seating to enjoy your refreshments (dog water bowls too), as well as deck chairs to take in the view. And if you were hoping to plan in a bike ride this weekend, there are even bike racks by the lower entrance.

Cattle will be returning to some fields on the Bath Skyline. Please remember to keep your dog on a lead if walking them through a field containing livestock.
Bath Skyline regularly has sheep and cattle grazing in various fields, and unfortunately there are regular reports of dogs going after livestock. All dogs, no matter how under control, need to be kept on a lead in these fields.
These green spaces are for everyone to enjoy. Please be respectful of others.
