🌊 More than 80 young surfers hit the waves at Hungry Head beach on the Mid North Coast this weekend for the Surf Reflections Junior Series. 🏕️ The Series is held in partnership with @surfestnewcastle by @reflectionsholidays , which cares for 47 community reserves spanning more than 9000 hectares on NSW Crown land and is a great example of how public spaces can support local communities, tourism and the next generation of surfing talent. Alanni Morris and Max Goold took out the U14s girls and boys, with Pearl Eaton and Hugo Spierings winning in the U16s girls and boys categories. 🥇 Former World Surf League pro surfer Trent Munro and Newcastle pro surfer Jacko Baker were on hand to mentor the competitors from NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. 🤙

⚡️NSW councils are getting future-ready with mechanics upskilling to service a growing electric vehicle fleet used across local government. The first EV upskilling workshop has now concluded at TAFE NSW Wetherill Park, with more planned in the future, including on the North Coast. The workshops are open to qualified council mechanics and fourth‑year apprentices, teaching the inspection, service and repair of EVs. The workshops are part of the NSW Government’s $252 million Fresh Start program, supporting more than 1,300 apprentices, trainees and cadets in the local government workforce across the state.

🚶‍♀️ The boardwalk at Griffith Park, Collaroy has been upgraded, making one of the Northern Beaches’ favourite coastal walks even better. The renovated boardwalk and bridge replace ageing infrastructure, improving safety and access for walkers, families and visitors all year round ✅ Delivered by Northern Beaches Council, the upgrade was supported by $500,000 from the NSW Government through the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund and is part of a broader $2.1 million investment in the site. With sweeping ocean views 🌊, ancient chocolate shale cliffs 🪨 and fossil rich rock platforms revealed at low tide, Griffith Park remains a standout spot along the coastline. 👟 Have you taken a walk along the boardwalk yet?
