Eighty people showed up to Spinelli's in Peabody on Saturday dressed in hats, heels, bow ties, and blazers — and what unfolded was exactly what the North Shore Juneteenth Association builds all year long.
@spinellislynnfield
The annual NSJA Tea, themed "Blazing the Trail," brought together elected officials, state reps, congressional candidates, and community leaders from across the North Shore for an afternoon of culture, keynotes, and real connection.
@tanisha4ma , President of the NAACP's New England Area Conference, delivered a keynote about stepping forward and leading boldly. The afternoon featured live jazz from Upper Room Entertainment, spoken word from
@bigbrothasadi , and vocals from
@lyricsbyeva .
But here's the thing — the Tea is one piece of what
@nsjuneteenth does all year. Youth initiatives. Cultural education. Community-based programming. Dismantling racism through inclusive events and real action, every single month.
@nsjuneteenth is a Creative Collective member, and their work is the kind of steady, year-round community building that makes the North Shore stronger.
