So “angels (live session)” is finally out in the world!!
This song has been years, and has taken on many forms… I tried so hard to make it “big” and “perfect,” and in doing that- it got so far away from me.
UNTIL- I was explaining my frustration with my friend
@kateyahn , and she suggested I do it in a way that felt the most real, and truthful to me. So she introduced me to
@francishenson (who is the magical guitar wizard on this song), and we took everything away, and got back to the heart of the song, and why I wrote it.
I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have landed here. With this version. The opposite of perfection, in its rawest form, and that to me is “perfect.” One vocal take, no edits, no manipulating, just us in your ear.
