Happy New Year, everyone! 🥂 While reflecting on the year that was, I realized that making this wedding film for Allison and Kevin was one of my creative highlights. Even during the brief time I spent with them, it felt like they had a timeless, star-crossed romance, and I did what I could to reflect glimmers of that in their wedding film. Throughout the year I can get engrossed with meeting a deadline or solving a creative challenge, so I don’t always have the bandwidth to figure out what I want to share about a project. Besides, social media can be overwhelming to me. Much of it feels like a distraction from where I want to head, but I like the part about trying to connect with others by sharing meaningful things in an honest way. Thanks to @sean_gasser_media for being a great second shooter on this. As we head into 2025, I hope that memories of Allison and Kevin’s wedding will nudge me, and maybe even you, to work a little harder to aim for friendships and creative endeavors that are built to last

Even in the dark his presence shines. Conveying more with less is sometimes a helpful approach. Try it. Subject (and good guy): @nomadsandnobles

I had shot a couple weddings before this, but this May the 4th wedding from several years ago was the first one where I tried to tell a story, not just document the day. It’s special to me not just because it was my cousin getting married and much of my family was there, but also because my granddad officiated the ceremony. He’s no longer with us. I rewatched it today, and it hit a little harder this time. You are missed, Papou. Happy Anniversary Chloe & Jake. May the 4th be with you.

This is not how you’ve ever had crawfish before. At Crawfête 2026, presented by the Epicurean Society of Baton Rouge, some chefs stayed traditional… and some pushed it. Roshni Gurnani — Chef Rosh — brought a completely different perspective to Louisiana crawfish. Instead of a classic boil, she built an Indian-inspired crawfish dish layered with tamarind, curry leaves, kaffir lime, and mustard seeds. That’s the kind of move that defines Crawfête—respect the culture, but don’t be afraid to evolve it. And it’s bigger than just food. Crawfête supports the Louisiana Restaurant Association and other community-focused organizations through the Epicurean Society. Tradition meets global creativity, all on one plate. Would you try crawfish like this, or are you sticking with the classic Louisiana boil?

New Orleans is an endlessly captivating place. Shot this wedding film 🎥 for Cece and Andy a few years back, and it was such a treat that their wedding included some NOLA classics— streetcars 🚋, the Pontchartrain Hotel, and St. Patrick’s Church ⛪️. Plus, at the brunch before the wedding they had Bananas Foster 🍌🔥 at Brennan’s, where the dessert was invented back in 1951. This #ThrowbackThursday goes out to a city and a wedding I’ll never forget. #NewOrleansWeddingFilm #NOLAWedding #LouisianaLove

Attention Willie Nelson fans: we’re looking for some feedback here. 🌵 Last year, @reecesullivan recorded a few songs at @audiodallas , formerly Autumn Sound, the studio where Willie recorded Red Headed Stranger—the iconic outlaw country album that transformed his career and included Willie’s first number one hit, “Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain.” I shot some footage during Reece’s recording session at Audio Dallas, and I’m working on a music video and documentary to commemorate the music Reece recorded there. 🎥🎶 As a capstone to that project, Reece and I went to @luckreunion , Willie Nelson’s music festival near Austin that is hosted on the set built for the film adaptation of Red Headed Stranger. This is a short video that Reece and I put together to recap our Luck visit and introduce “Old Debts,” one of the songs Reece recorded at Audio Dallas, and the song that a few musicians described as having a Willie Nelson feel. 🤠 Reece is still working with his audio engineer to polish the songs, but if you’d like to hear the full version of “Old Debts” in its current form and offer feedback, comment “INTERESTED” and we’ll send you a link. Your feedback could help us release the strongest version of Reece’s music and videos, and we would be so grateful to you for that. Thanks for watching! -Nick & Reece

The pageantry. The guest list. The beautiful dress and cake. None of it matters if the relationship isn’t built to last. Elysium Trail wedding films is for couples who have enduring relationships worth fighting for and the families and friends who helped them get there. Love guides the way.

💜💚💛 Happy Mardi Gras, y’all! Had the opportunity to walk alongside @arclouisiana during Endymion to document their outreach to the police officers and first responders who work long shifts so everyone can celebrate safely. Fun fact: Hubig’s Pies, that beloved New Orleans snack, provides special-edition Red Cross pies for the Red Cross to hand out during Mardi Gras festivities! 🥧 One of the officers I photographed was curious about my Canon R5 Mark II, so I let him try it, and he snapped a photo of me without me asking. Being friendly while on assignment has its perks!
