This is the first time in around ten years that I paint some sort of human figure? I’ve been researching some old catalogs and advertisements of Architecture Studios from Argentina. What caught my attention is the recurrent images of women in the backgrounds, standing in interiors as silhouettes - behind curtains, screens and other objects. I’m loving to give texture to my paintings and using linen as ground.

I’ve always had a love-hate thing for postmodern architecture. When I moved to Berlin I started to realize how some incredible buildings that I read about in books became some sort of background in my commute. I still like to revise it/ get inspired by and paint it every once in a while.- the last photo is by @marinellii

Auto fiction. I have not posted any new works in a long time. I’m obsessed into looking for ways to make a mark. Stencil, impasto, trompe l’oeil… the list goes on and on.

Algorithm you are so weird right now! So I will spam again and again. I’m obsessed with doble illusions so I’m a bit sad that I was too distracted to read who made that crazy snail bracelet.

I showed this paintings in a show that the amazing Claudia Rech curated. I enjoy looking at them today. I keep looking to make it make sense.

Footnote (after Isabella) There is a Pre-Raphaelite_Brotherhood painting I have been obsessed with. It’s based on Lisabetta e il testo di bassilico -from Boccaccio’s Decameron. It describes the relationship between Isabella, the sister of wealthy medieval merchants, and Lorenzo, an employee of Isabella’s brothers. Isabella’s brothers realise that there is a romance between the two young people, and plot to murder Lorenzo so they can marry Isabella to a wealthy nobleman. Isabella is handed a blood orange on a plate by the doomed Lorenzo. A cut blood orange is symbolic of the neck of someone who has just been decapitated, referring to Isabella cutting off Lorenzo’s head to take it with her after finding him buried. I am obsessed by the weird details and side characters I find in some paintings. I can’t help bringing them in.
