Merch concept for fun featuring one of my favorite 90s bands , @humbandofficial 🦓
I vividly remembering discovering them in the car with my mother one day while we were listening to an old episode of Howard Stern where he interviewed them (around 95 I believe). We were both stunned at how good they were.
Also the whiplash of them surprise dropping an album in 2020 during the pandemic and then learning of the passing of their amazing drummer, Bryan St. Pere was insane.
Anyways, I’m glad to see they’re still playing shows (even if it’s a just a few).
Took a stab at conceptualizing what I think merch could look like for the upcoming re-recorded version of @bringmethehorizon ’s “Count Your Blessings” for the 20th anniversary (…damn). I blended their current style of merch design ala NEXGEN with the classic colors and cues from the OG album art 🦈🪼🪸 🌊

Growing up, listening to “Blessed Be” was game changing. I was discovering new styles of music, and this was the album and band that got me into goth rock. I then went backwards and listened to the staples of course (Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, Bauhaus, etc.). But I’ll always come back to this one, especially the song “Stolen Season”
I was lucky enough to be in a band that opened for them two years ago and was fortunate enough to have a conversation with some of the members post-show at @thesilhouetteallston (particularly @jyrki69 and a quick hug from Timo-Timo).

Having recently discovered his work through a YouTube recommendation, I went down a rabbit hole of his music. This one in particular stole my attention from the cover art alone (illustrated by Andrew Annenberg). It looks and feels exactly how sounds.
Unfortunately, it’s not available for streaming, but you can listen to this gem on YouTube thanks to a CD rip. Maybe one day they’ll re-release this on physical media…

Merch concept for fun featuring @officialskinnypuppy . This particular image is one I took while witnessing their final show in Boston back in 2023. I even got a chance to meet them briefly and it was one of my favorite experiences getting to see a band that shaped how I viewed music as a young adult in search of something sonically different.
